With access to irrigated farmland further north via riverside channels and canals,riverTON became one of central Utahs most prosperous cities during its early years; it boasted high rates of educational attainment among its citizens – many residents went on to achieve notable careers within state government or business circles throughout the 20th century. In 1916, following World War I which devastated much American society through military engagement across Europe and Asia demand for agricultural products soared due to food shortages resultant from war–related destruction; this led to increased commercial activity in downtown Riverton culminating with construction of an extensive shopping district that included numerous millsinery stores including Tiffany's flagship store at 4th Avenue and State Street NW between 1924-1927; that particular stretch now forms part of US Highway 84 corridor eastbound between Provo/Orem/Sandy Beach Junction (exit 224) RCW 362nd Ave NE & SR 1070wb E
