When McDonald's first opened up shop in Riverton in 1927, it was one of only two restaurants open in Ogden at that time. Over time, McDonald's grew into one of Utah's largest restaurant chains with more than 350 locations across the state and Great Britain. He named his new settlement “Cottonwood City” after cottonwoods he saw near his farmstead on Cottonwood Creek[2]. By 1870 river transportation had improved so much that goods could be transported overland from Provo or Ogden amidships Salt Lake City[3] insteadof having to leave early each morning for Cache Valley amidships Provo or Orem where wagon trains were waiting before continuing their journey downriver all day long! This change not only saved money but also increased productivity because men no longer had to spend hours walking down riverside trails during hot summer days just to get their cargo offloaded onto wagons! Notable residents during this time include Captain George Stephenson (brought supplies overland from St George)and Drury Hargrave(born 1800 moved here from England). By 1880 Cottonwood City had come under control of Brigham Young University (BYU) since it leased land adjacent thereto beginning in 1879 for use as campus buildings including Old Main Building now called Tower Hall dating back to 1860! For many years Cottonwood City served as BYU’s second headquarters following Salt Lake City! CottonwoodCity prospered until about 1900 when railroad construction cutting off access southward commenced rendering most commercial activities obsolete including passenger service entailing overnight stays especially inconvenient for students commuting daily into school! As railroads came through town numerous small businesses closedtered along with homes thereby eliminating any opportunities extant for people within sight & hearing proximity o f large commercial entities without having undue inconvenience !! There has been a history of lasers sights for the purpose of shooting, dating back to the early 1800s. In 1853, an American patent was awarded to George Eastman and his partner, Julius Einsteins, for a device that used light waves to sight guns. The invention soon supplanted traditional methods of sighting using eyeglasses or telescopes. In 1927, Bruno Kapp designed and patented what is now known as the first laser sight – a device that uses energy from a light sources (typically red, green, or blue) to project images onto a film or screen. The Riverton Massacre was a July 1861 massacre of Mormons located in Riverton, Utah. The Mormons were traveling from Logan, Utah to Independence, Missouri when they were attacked by gunmen led by John D. Lee. Twenty-one people were killed, including nine children and four women.
The Riverton Massacre took place on November 6, 1875, when six men, including three Mormons and one member of the Utah Territorial Legislature, were killed by a party of federal troops while riding in a wagon train south of the town.
