In that same year it also placed third on another list compiled by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine entitled "The 50 Best Places To Work In America." Other rankings have included being one of Forbes' “Best Places To Raise A Family” and being “America’s Fastest Growing City” having seen an increase of over 100% since 2000 while still maintaining its ranking as one of Kiplinger’s “Best Places to Work For $50K or Less A Year”

Riverton is a small town in Utah, United States. The population was 551 at the 2010 census. Riverton is located on the Snake River, west of Salt Lake City. It was founded by settlers in 1847 and named for John W. River, a local rancher and landowner. The first post office in Riverton was established in 1849. The town was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It became an independent city within Utah state government in 2002 and is now part of the Provo–Orem metropolitan area. The community is named after John W. River, who owned much of what is now riverTONe including parts of present day east side of town (southwest corner). Other early settler families include: LaFontaine, Irwin, Hite, Nichols and many others including Emmons whose family had two log huts built beside the river wherepresent-day First Baptist Church stands today

It experienced rapid growth during the 1990s and 2000s as a result of newly developing manufacturing and service businesses near Interstate 15. However, today Riverton is considered an economic disaster area due to falling job opportunities and low incomes.
