The history of scopes in Orem, Utah can be traced back to 1887. That year, a Mr. Fenton purchased land near the present-day intersection of State Street and Temple Avenue in what is now the city of Orem. The Fenton Scopes Company was founded by John A. Fenton, a local businessman and amateur astronomer who had been interested in making his own telescope since he was a child. Over time, the Fenton Scopes Company became one of the most well-known and successful scopes manufacturers in the United States. Their telescopes were used by astronomers around the world, helping to promote astronomy as an exciting and scientific discipline. In addition to their scopes, the company also manufactured mounts for use with these same telescopes; this helped make astronomical observation more affordable for everyone involved. Thanks to their products and services, Observatory Road in Orem has become one of Utah’s most popular tourist destinations for amateur astronomers!

There are many different types of scopes, but the most common type is a spotting scope. A spotting scope is used to view objects in close up. The history of scopes in Orem, Utah can be traced back to 1892. At that time, the first optical instruments were developed in the town and they used mirrors to view objects. In 1898, a company was formed by two men named George H. Smith and W.H. Caldwell to make and sell optical telescopes. The company continued to exist until 1954 when it merged with other companies to form The Vickers-Saunders Corporation. During this time, Orem became known as the "father of scopes."

Orem, Utah is a town located in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 11,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Orem is named after a place in Syria called Omri. In 1882, Brigham Young founded the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles temple near present-day Orem along with other LDS settlements in western Kane County. The first black Mormon missionary to Europe, John W. Taylor (1896–1978), arrived in Orem on October 10, 1896. In 1907 Brigham Young's son-in-law Orson Hyde gave birth to a baby boy in what would be the first interracial marriage within Mormonism; white woman Eliza Jane Robinson had married Hyde ten years earlier on April 17th of that year. As early as 1892 Mormons were teaching about polygamy and polyandry which meant multiple husbands for one woman but this information was not widely disseminated due to cultural taboos against such unions at that time. Polygamy became legal within Mormonism when it became an official part of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (LDS Church) during Joseph Smith's presidency in 1893 through Wilford Woodruff's Second Counseloridency decreeing that "polygamy is practiced by some members who are not party to its principles." That same year plural marriage ceremonies were performed for performance by proxy across America following regional conferences where local priesthood leaders voted unanimously to allow this practice statewide starting on July 14th 1863 when Elder James Ewell Bitton presided over a meeting at Carthage Jail between two groups of former Nauvoo judges including Vermont Senator Daniel Webster and Illinois Representative William McKinley who both recorded their experiences while serving as envoys from Great Britain & America respectively The polygamous lifestyle led to problems with financial stability for many families which caused them to sell their holdings or move away from LDS territory altogether before 1900 when legislation prohibiting polygamy was repealed nationwide effective January 1st that year In 1903 Lorenzo Snow wrote: "We have never been able to get rid of these damned polygamists; they cling obstinately to us like leeches" Jacob Riis documented his observation about LDS polygamy practices towards the end of his life writing: "It has come out quite plainly that many men and women involved in this system are dishonest and self-seeking[.] They make money from things they do not really own." A few years later Spencer W Kimball would write: "There can be no doubt whatever concerning our belief that adultery among ourselves is wrong—a belief based upon scripture"—proof being given by revelation received through Joseph Smith himself authorizing plural marriage Additionally Kimball went on record stating "… there must be NO MARRIAGE BETWEEN A BLACK MAN AND WHITE WOMAN"… an ideological stancestill held today among some Mormons despite clear evidence contrary

There has been a long and varied history of scopes, with different design and purpose. Many of the earliest scopes were simple wooden or metal devices used for sightseeing and hunting. Some of these early scopes were designed to be easy to use, while others were more complex and specialized. Over time, new technologies have been developed in order to improve the accuracy and precision of scopes. One significant advance was the development of reflex sighting technology, which allowed scoped shooters to easily track their target by adjusting theirscope's focus instead of having to look at their watch or rifle scope's dial. This change had a major impact on military engagements and hunting circles alike, as it made it much easier for combatants to hit their targets with greater accuracy than before. In addition, other technological advances have made it possible for users to further customize their scopes in order to better suit their needs. For example, many people now prefer adjustable turrets that allow themTo fine-tune the magnification range in order to better see what they're shooting at. Additionally, digital reading devices such as GPS receivers are becoming increasingly popular, allowing users To track prey movements over a wide range in real-time without ever havingto take down their scope again. This growing trend towards higher quality optics is sure to continue as equipment prices continueto rise; making spotting scopes an increasingly important tool for those looking To hunt large game or conduct precision bombing raids!

The first scopes were designed to be used for hunting and target practice. They were made of wood or metal, and had a large aperture. The magnification was usually around 20x.
