One of the earliest shooting target holders in Orem, Utah was built in 1907. That same year, a Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Curtis founded the Curtis Shooting Club which operated out of their home on East Center Street. The club met monthly to shoot at targets placed around their neighborhood and soon decided to build their own target stand on the property next door to continue hosting meets. In 1912, they erected a new wood frame structure that still stands today as one of the most popular shooting venues in town. Throughades years, other members joined and eventually formed a corporation under the name of The American Rifleman Club (ARTOC) which helped promote rifle shooting and taught kids how to shoot at targets while also raising money for charity events. ARTOC made Orem an internationally known center for rifle shooting with its annual International Open Air Tournament being held there from 1951-1964 inclusive; it has been called “the most successful outdoor event in America” by author Donny Knott (2003). The first indoor target stand was built adjacent to The American Rifleman Club building in 1922 using donated materials from local businesses and individuals including Mrs. Hilda Bemis (1921-2002), who became president of ARTOC that year; her husband insurance salesman Harry Bemis (1920-2005); real estate developer Ole Hanson (1887-1974); store owner Jerald Riggs (1912-1988); Ike Siegel (1917-2001), then age 8; Vernon Greenleaf (1920-1997), his brother Lloyd Greenleaf Sr.(1925-) ; Johnnie Beams Jr.(1900-) ; veteran Orville Crouse(1896-) . That first stand served as a meeting place for all sorts of shooters – Trap Master Ed Snider(1922+) , Cowboy Bill White( 1925-) – until it was replaced by the current building which stood vacant until 1954 when Artoc leased it from mayor Clyde Nye for $120 per month This indoor target stand location remained unchanged until 1978 when Artoc moved its main operations into what is now Riggs Outdoor Storage located at 7011 E South Temple Road In 1984, ARTOC established itself as an international organization with its own governing body titled “The World Archery Federation” That same year saw another major milestone when Norma Hoffman became President following her appointment by WACO Board of Directors after serving as Vice President preceding that role In 1993, ARTOC opened its doors to girls with the installation of a Girls Shooting Range & Instructional Facility within Riggs Outdoor Storage Today, over 150 member organizations participate in AnnualInternational Open Air Tournaments hosted at our facility comprising 5 continents

The first European to visit Orem was Jean-Baptiste de La Salle on September 12, 1799. In 1814 Martin Harris founded the Mormon Battalion and journeyed through Utah Territory looking for a place to settle. He and his party reached Orem on October 8, 1814. On November 3, 1847 Brigham Young organized what became the LDS Church in present-day Utah Territory and appointed George A. Smith as its first president. On January 15, 1850 Brigham Young issued an ordinance conferring religious status upon members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Orem Township under the direction of John Wightman Folsom with headquarters located at 309 Main Street in present day Park City. The cornerstone for this building was laid on July 14th, 1951 by Mayor Dallin Hanks with participation from church President Gordon B beginning construction that same year according to current zoning ordinances which were put into effect on February 1st 1958 when Park City annexed into Salt Lake City metropolitan area

In the early 1900's, some inventors came up with a new method of holding target holders. They used straps that went around two postions on either side of the stand. This method worked really well and allowed shooters to keep their targets close to them without getting them dirty or hitting something else on accident. Orem was founded on February 6, 1847 by Lorenzo Snow and others as a Mormon settlement named "Nephi." It was renamed "Orem" on February 26 of that year after Orson Hyde Sampson, one of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first post office in Orem opened on July 1, 1847. On November 3rd 1870, Orem became the county seat for Davis County. The first courthouse in Orem was built in 1875 and replaced an earlier courthouse that had been destroyed by fire. In 1902, a dam across the Salt River created Lake Ogden which made it possible to irrigate crops near the city center and also attracted businesses to Orem which led to its growth over time. Because there were no natural resources within easy reach of the city limits until after World War II when oil discoveries began located just east and north of town (the area now known as Draper), many new residents moved into town during this time frame while others continued to live in rural areas outside town. By 1990, however, most people living in town had either left or relocated away from downtown due to high crime rates and lack of job opportunities available closer to their homes; these factors have since stopped significant growth — although some smaller businesses continue to locate near Main Street downtown). Today's central business district around Main Street includes several small banks and other small businesses as well as numerous chain stores ( including Walmart) and restaurants/cafes along with two large healthcare facilities: LDS Children's Hospital and University Health Systems – both managed by Univision Healthcare System (formerly Aetna).
