In the early 1800s,gun sights were not as common in Utah as they are today. One of the first gun sights to be developed in Utah was a military rifle sight. This military rifle sight consisted of two small circles that could be placed at different distances on a rifles barrel to help with range estimation. The military rifle sight was used by both American and Mormon soldiers during the early 1800s. A second development for gun sights inUtah happened around 1825 when artillerymen began using a system called an “aluminum triangle” Sight which consisted of three circles that could be placed at different distances on a cannons barrel to help with range estimation. The aluminum triangle sight became very popular because it allowed for more accurate aiming than other types of sighting systems at the time. Later on, gun sights started becoming more common in Utah due to the fact that guns became much more popular among settlers and businesses throughout the state. With this popularity came increased demand for better handgun sights, which led to new development around 1860 when metal detectors were invented and began becoming widely used in many workplaces across Utah. As metal detectors became increasingly popular,Gun Sight manufacturers responded by developing new metal sighting systems known as "triangles." Today,gun sights are still very common in Utah and can be found all over various business or residential areas across the state. They remain an important part of firearm safety and can now also be found on modern assault rifles as well!

Orem's gun sights history begins in the early 1800s with pioneer Samuel Winchester. In 1820, Winchester built a rifle factory in Orem and began to produce handguns. The first handguns were pistols made of iron and wood, but soon they became more popular because they were easy to shoot and had a high rate of accuracy. In 1856, Brigham Young appointed John Taylor as the first Territorial governor of Utah and he ordered Winchester to make rifles for the new state. As a result, Orem became one of the leading firearms factories in the Territory. By 1860, guns produced by Winchester were being used by both Utahans and settlers in California, Nevada, Arizona and many other parts of the Western United States.
Orem, Utah (population: 23,557) is a city in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 24,927 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kane County. The name "Orem" is an English word meaning "a place for offering sacrifice." The first permanent settler in what is now Orem was George C. Smith in 1847. A post office called Orem was established in 1851, and became a town on December 1, 1865. On February 26, 1888, it was renamed to "Orem City", after the Orem Temple which had been built that year by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In November 1913 the temple was destroyed by fire; Orem then reverted to its original name until it changed back to Oreme on October 15th of that year as part of a larger changeover in city government which also included the establishment of an all-female police department and other changes. On February 3rd 1916 Brigham Young announced his candidacy for President of the United States; he won both balloting and were sworn into office on March 6th at Fort Douglas outside Omaha along with Ulysses S. Grant and Woodrow Wilson
Gun sights have been a part of firearms for centuries. The earliest sighting devices were made from animal skin or other materials that could be stretched to cover the entire barrel and eye piece. These early sights were crude, and required changing the focus of the crosshair to hit what was being aimed at. Over time, many different types of sighting devices were created. Some worked better than others, but all had one common goal: providing a way to maintain consistent fire on target. The modern sighting device has its roots in late 18th century French military firearm design. A French soldier named Nicolas-Jacques Conte designed a sight called "Le Diable" which used an erectile iron ring to maintain aim while firing (see illustration below). This type of sight was later adapted by Spanish artillery officers during the Peninsular War, who named it "Cromwell". Each wars brought new advances in technology, so it is not clear why "Le Diable" became known as the Cromwell sight during the Napoleonic Wars. However, some historians believe that Napoleon may have been inspired by British troops' use of this type of sight during his campaigns in Spain and Portugal. In 1806, American Major John Browning patented his first successful gunsight design - the Browning Rifle Gun Sight (BGS). The BGS featured a thin disk located just above the rear blade of the lens mount which allowed for variable magnification (up to×10) and parallax compensation (±5 degrees), making it ideal for use with rifles carrying both open sights and reflex sights; moreover, its rotating turret allowed for easy adjustment between single or multiple targets at close range. During World War II several companies developed night vision equipment specifically designed for use with gunsights; most notably Weaver Optics Corporation's VP6A Night VisionGun Sight which was fielded by both USAAF/US Marine Corps and Japanese Imperial Army forces during World War II primarily as part of their anti-aircraft armaments programs
One of the earliest types of gun sights was a crosshair or aiming dot. This type of sight had a small hole in the center that allowed you to focus on the target and hit it with your shot.
Orem, Utah is located in the Wasatch Mountains and was first settled by Mormon missionaries in 1847. The town was established on the site of a previous small settlement, Orem Lake, which had been abandoned due to malaria. In 1850, the United States government bought the land from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and erected a fort there to protect settlers from Comanches. The fort served as a trading post until 1861 when it was destroyed by an accidental fire. A new fort was built in 1875 at what is now called Park City and remained in use until 1898 when Orem became its own municipality. In 1912, Orem became part of Provo County and remains one of its most populous municipalities today. Orem has experienced many economic changes over its history; it has been a center for farming, lumbering, mining, manufacturing and retail trade. The population peaked during World War II with over 40% of residents working within the munitions industry; however since then the population has slowly declined with most residents now living within their respective homes or close to work. Today, Orem is home to several cultural institutions including Brigham Young University–Hawaii (BYU), Weber State University (WSU) and Utah Valley University (UVU).
In 1847, the first Latter Day Saint settlement was established in what is now Orem, Utah. The founders were Brigham Young and his wife, Emma. In 1850, the colony was dissolved and its members scattered; however, some of them returned to establish a new settlement in 1851 on the same site. The name of this new town was later changed to Orem.
