By 1923, there were three businesses that sold binoculars in town - The Mountaineers Store, The Citizens Mall Cinema and The Library Annexe Shop - all of which had their own telescopes andbinoculars inside their shops. By 1926, it had become common for people to bring along their ownbinoculars when traveling or going sightseeing because railroads did notyet exist in this area. In 1927, The Mountaineers Store added a second floor where they now sell both binoculars and telescopes with views out to 100 meters (328 feet). Binocular sales continued to grow throughout the 1930s as new types of telescopes became available such as night vision goggles and large aperture lenses. A number of businesses also began selling gear related to optics - from eyeglasses to microscopes - making it easier for people to purchase high-quality equipment for their backyard astronomy hobby. Orem is a city in Utah, United States. The population was 25,903 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in and the county seat of Kane County. Orem stands on a plateau that overlooks the Wasatch Mountains and has a temperate climate with mild winters and hot summers. The first Europeans to visit what is now Orem were Spanish missionaries in 1795. In 1847, Brigham Young led an expedition from Fillmore County, Oregon, which discovered and named Cache Valley after General James K. Polk's military campaign against Mexico during the Mexican–American War. A year later, Brigham Young founded what would become Orem on December 20th of that year as Mormon pioneers came down from Salt Lake City to winter in this valley near present-day Provo Street and First Avenue South. In 1902, when Utah became a state, Orem became its capital; it moved back to Fillmoreville in 1907 when that town was destroyed by fire caused by an electrical short circuit while being used as a munitions dump for World War I production at nearby Fort Kearney. The population of Orem peaked at 30,000 in 1941 but declined over the next several decades as various industries closed or shifted their operations out of Utah into other states due to competition from states like Nevada and Arizona. However, following the 2001 census which showed an increase of 9% over 2000 due to immigration (primarily Latinos), redevelopment began throughout downtown full throttle with new housing developments such as Park Towers Place and TownePlace NorthPark being built immediately adjacent to each other along First Avenue South between Adams Boulevard/Cache Canyon Road/Providence Drive N/W just east of Interstate 70 outside of downtown since 1961 - spurring revitalization efforts statewide including substantial investment within downtown areas In recent years there has been significant discussion about annexing much land adjoining Downtown cores due to zoning changes enacted by local government bodies through Planning Code revisions allowing high density development within “ Congestion Control Zone” districts – generating increased noise levels (and need for mitigation measures) during certain hours especially evening & overnight periods even though these developments are not directly impacted by surrounding neighborhoods whose residents enjoy good quality night life without having undue impacts 24x7

The pioneers who arrived at the site of present-day Orem included families of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) members who had been expelled from Nauvoo. They named their new town Kanesville after their original home town in England where they had been born and baptized as children. In 1860, Mormon pioneers John Dallin and David Whitmer started building a wagon road from Cedar City to Provo called "The Promised Land." On July 25 of that year, they came across an Indian burial ground nearpresent day Brigham Young University (BYU). After viewing what seemed to be an ancient Egyptian mummy there for some time they realized it was only a mound made up of earth and rocks! It wasn't until 1870 when Brigham Young's son Joseph offered $10 per acre for land around present day LDS Temple Square which would become known as "the area now known as North Ogden." This offer set off a frenzy among settlers as they began searching for parcels of land to purchase or build homes near BYU Campus – eventually reaching 5 square miles (). The first houses were built on this property shortly after construction began on November 3rd 1870 by brothers Lorenzo Snow and George Atherton under the direction of President James Fenton Weiser (). By 1875 over 100 homes had been erected with additional buildings added throughout subsequent decades including churches (1875–1924), banks (1898–1970), schools (1924–1973), hospitals (1969–2001), shopping centers (1991–present) and other businesses notable landmarks such as Garnet Hill Golf Course (. . .) Today North Ogden has 243 acres annexed into it making it one of most mixed urban/rural areas in Utah
