Ogden, Utah is a city located in the Wasatch Front region of Utah. The population was 137,823 as of the 2010 census. Ogden is bordered by Cedar City to the east, Midvale to the west, and South Jordan to the north. It lies just south of Interstate 15 and about 30 miles from Salt Lake City. The first settler in Ogden was John Dutton who arrived in 1847. By 1860, there were over 100 residents living in what is now Ogden. The town was incorporated on April 12, 1865. In 1870, construction began on a canal that would provide water for settlers in what is now Midvale and Sandydale areas. The canal opened October 10th, 1870 and allowed goods and passengers to travel between Midvale and Sandydale without having to go through Cedar City or Springdale). In 1892, Ogden became an agricultural center with a fairground being built adjacent to First National Bank (now Pacific Data Mart). A post office was established at Ogden on May 1st, 1892. During World War II, Ogden served as an airfield for RAF Bomber Command based out of RAF Odiham near Rugby in England. Today there are several museums located within or around the city limits related to this time period including the Boeing aircraft factory which closed down in 1961 after producing Boeing 707s (the last model produced), RAF Odiham Museum which opened its doors in 1984 followed by RAF Bentwaters Test Range Museum which opened its doors in 1997; both are open Monday-Saturday 9am-4pm respectively. In 1951 Iglesias Brothers began production of cigarettes outside of Salt Lake City under license from American Tobacco Company’s Uintah Valley division until 1957 when they merged into Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation effective December 1st., 1957 . In 1962 Brown & Williamson decided that they no longer wanted their cigarette products distributed throughout Utah so they discontinued manufacture within the state altogether commencing with production at their new plant located at 4000 West State Street outside of Provo also known as “The Factory” until it ceased operations on July 6th., 1966 due largely to environmental concerns caused by Acetylene used during manufacturing process which led eventually to fire on November 3rd., 1969 resulting $2 million worth of damage done both inside building and acrossadjacent fields.. wrecking equipment lay dormant for years before finally being purchased by Southern Utah Wilderness Committee whose efforts culminated with its placement adjacent Tooele River next door portions along partidl fenceline where it resided until dismantled beginning February 14th., 1990 following donation by local citizens alloys replacement bodywork fiberglass main structure—highest quality restoration ever undertaken anywhere!!

Ogden, Utah is a well-known Mormon town located in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah. The population was estimated at around 100,000 in 1960, but has increased to over 150,000 today. Ogden is the site of two large missions from the LDS Church - Zion and Mesa Verde. The first mission was founded by Joseph Smith in 1847 and the second by Brigham Young in 1868. Today Ogden is also home to several smaller branches of the LDS Church including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) branch known as Park City and an LDS Missionary District comprising six stations - Cedar City, Provo, Logan, Sandy Hook Heights, Spanish Fork and Winter Quarters. The history of Ogden goes back to its earliest days as a small community situated on top of a hill overlooking the Great Salt Lake Valley. In 1860, pioneers arrived in what is now Ogden with the intention of establishing a new Mormon colony on this fertile land near present-day CedarCity. Unfortunately for these early settlers their original location did not fit well into what would become established as Ogden – it was too far from trading posts and missionary sites and had no easy access to water or other resources necessary for growth. Nevertheless, many settlers set out from Nauvoo to establish their own settlements throughout what would later become Utah Territory; some reaching as far east as Fillmore County. In 1865 Jedediah Smith discovered gold near present-day Ogden while exploring for a wagon road across the Great Salt Lake Valley; this led to one of the most successful gold rushes in Utah history and changed how people looked upon OgDEN – previously seen only as an agricultural backwater rich only in sheep grazing potentials it quickly became one of Utah’s largest cities with over 50 businesses lining Main Street between 1866 and 1870 alone! Despite initial misgivings about polygamy being practiced within Mormonism – which at that time still counted among its ranks – many Mormons began migrating increasingly towards Ogden during this period due largely to rising prices for foodstuffs experienced across much larger eastern farms during this period such as cotton plantations throughout Mississippi/Alabama under US slave trade regulations; however polygamy prosecutions continued even after church restrictions were put into place prohibiting polygamy altogether within LDS churches beginning in 1890). While some religious dissidents left Nauvoo during this timeframe seeking asylum outside Missouri due primarily to religious persecution there were also scores (possibly hundreds) who decided agriculturally based life within Mormonism could not be sustained given current economic conditions beyond simply raising more crops/herding animals etcetera anyhow so they followed suit soon thereafter becoming known alternatively amongst Mormons themselves as “Mormons leaving Nauvoo” or simply “the Nauvoo exodus” depending on your perspective! Other popular tourist destinations include: Pioneer Square where you can find displays related specifically to pioneer life such as clothing made from local woolen fabric products donated by local mills etc., Springdale Cemetery containing remains dating back centuries including those associated with general James Hinkle who sold his soul to God for protection from robbers shortly before his death at age 72 years old just south side Main Street corner Springdale Avenue; Temple Square containing both temples built by Smith himself along wagons brought upriver northward via ferry landing point past Bear Lake before finally reaching Independence Rock next door then continuing downriver until arriving at Quincy House where President Brigham Younger resided prior visiting Liberty Jail daily various times beginning early summer 1830 prior eventually moving atop Independence Rock once again making similar visits northward all the way up river culminating atop Emigrant Creek Ferry Landingsite currently occupied by Weber State University Old Capitol Complex housing BYU's main campus building***** *****
