Pepper spray has been used by police officers in Utah for over a half century. In 1984, UASO (United States Army Special Operations Command) implemented Operation Demolition into southern Iraq using Mace grenades filled with octinoxate gas cylinders which caused devastating damage to infrastructure and homes without causing human casualties

The area that now makes up Ogden was first populated by Native American tribes. In 1847, Brigham Young founded what would become Ogden Station on the Great Salt Lake as a wagon stop between Nauvoo, Illinois and Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 1865, Brigham Young organized what would become The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS church) here in Ogden and it grew quickly into one of the largest settlements in western Utah. In 1887, John W. Taylor became president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS church). He reorganized LDS churches throughout Utah Territory and established an outpost here in Ogden to help lead missionaries to new markets around the world. In 1910, General Authorities Heber J Grant and Orson Pratt arrived from Nauvoo to start restored gospel preaching in this area which had been abandoned after Joseph Smith's death. As missionary work continued here under General Authorities George ARobertson and Lorenzo Snow, much progress was made toward restoring polygamy into law within LDS church policy during these years. This progress culminated with temple construction starting in 1940s under President Franklin D Richards—the first Mormon temple built outside Of America—and continuing until dedicated on October 22nd 1953 by Prophet Spencer W Kimball.—a day later than scheduled due to heavy rains that weekend.—In total, over 130 temples were built or renovated within Ogdens boundaries during its history! Today, Olathe Elementary School serves students from grades pre K through 8th grade while Draper Middle School provides instruction from 9th through 12th grades along with adult education classes for high school students who wish to pursue college degrees or other careers after graduation; all three schools are part of Unified School District #352 which includes Cedar City & Logan Counties! There are also several churches associated with LDSchurch located throughout downtown: First Baptist Church (#5), Second Temple Baptist Church (#2), Third Temple Baptist Church (#3), Cedar City Methodist Episcopal Zion Chapel (Cedar City’s only evangelical congregation), Highland Park United Methodist Church (#1), Our Lady Star Of Bethlehem Catholic Parish (operates both an elementary school & parish center across Frome Street from Pioneer Cemetery), Adventist Bible Institute (#7) among others! With such diversity present within our city Limits today it is no wonder that there are so many cultures represented as well as so many families who have come together to make OGDEN their home!
