North Salt Lake, Utah is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The population was 20,313 at the 2010 census. North Salt Lake is part of the Ogden–Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also within the Provo–Ogden Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent European settlers in what is now North Salt Lake were Mormon missionaries who arrived there during 1847 and 1848. The town was platted in 1850 by George Q. Cannon and others asCache Valley Station on the east side of Cache Valley Reservoir (now NorthSaltLake). On July 15, 1851, Cannon met Brigham Young while traveling overland from Nauvoo to Winter Quarters on the Milk River and proposed forming a new Mormon colony south of the Great Salt Lake. Brigham Young agreed and ordered Cannon to name the colony "North Salt Lake." In 1865, President Abraham Lincoln signed an executive order creating Weber County in north-central Utah Territory; this created a land grant to Joseph Fenton that included most of today's Cache Valley area including present-day NorthSaltLake. In 1870 another executive order designated Cache Valley as an agricultural county with jurisdiction over all but 14 square miles of present-day Northern Utah Territory; this gave authority for local farmers to develop their land into townships or villages and assigned them election districts which still exist today (See map above). On November 3rd 1898, two clumps of trees were found near what would become known as Springdale about 12 miles west of NorthSaltLake on Ute Mountain Road; later that year these trees would be identified as those which became know as "the Alamo" due to their location near where Mexican revolutionary Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was killed after leading his forces against Mexico's General Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla during the Mexican War (1846-1849) In 1902 both springdale trees were replaced by a single tree when it was determined they had been cut down illegally by cows taking root under them years earlier! Today one can still see evidence of these early cuts around Springdale even though cow activity has stopped completely since then! On October 1st 1907 Brigham Young dedicated Mount Moriah National Monument located just east of downtown NorthSaltLake along I-15 Route 9E across from BYU’s main campus; this monument commemorates Saints Church founderJoseph Fielding Smith’s vision that “a great white house should be erected among us” This temple/monument complex remains one of Christendom’s most impressive tourist attractions today having been visited by more than 200 million people! As mentioned earlier in this paper many aspects associated with life in Ancient civilizations influenced life here including Egyptian hieroglyphics carved into rocklar found throughout Cache Valley dating back over 4500 years ago Cicada references made throughout Book OF MORMONZ dated back 2500 BC pottery discovered at various sites throughout Northern Utah Territory All together these clues point to an antiquity quite unimaginable today!
