In 1881, the townsite of Glenwood City were annexed to North Ogden. Glenwood City had a population of 2,500 when it was annexed and its residents were relocated to north-central Kane County. The last resident of Glenwood City died in 1984. In 1907, a new electric streetlight system was initiated in Kane County and part of Beavercreek Township (west of North Ogden) because there were no streetlights east of I-15 (then US-6). A new school opened in 1912 serving students from north central Kane County as well as south Logan county and annexing parts of northwest Carbon Hill Township (east of North Ogdens). In 1875, North Ogden was the site of a small Mormon settlement that sprang up around a school. The first school in the area was built in 1876 by missionaries from the LDS Church. By 1898, there were six schools in North Ogden and over 100 students. In 1916, the North Ogden School District was organized and became one of Utah's five school districts. The population of North Ogden gradually declined as families moved away or left for other towns in the area. However, by 1970, the population had decreased to about 50 residents and the district had closed its doors for good.
