North Ogden, Utah is a small town located in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,688 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. North Ogden was founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers and was named for General George A. Smith, whoads north from Nauvoo to the new land near this junction of the rivers Deseret and Elk creek. In 1868 Smith's body was brought here from Carthage Jail after his execution for polygamy. Today North Ogdens Main Street retains its original name - "General George A. Smith Boulevard" - as do many other businesses in town including KFC, FedEx and Pizza Hut. The east side of town offers some newer neighborhoods while the west side has more traditional Mormon housing including two high schools (Ogden East and Brigham Young University-Hawaii). North Ogden is home to a few large businesses such as Staples Inc., GEICO and Hecht's Hardware along with a variety of smaller ones like Cafe Americano wine shop and Record Store Day on Saturday mornings when local music lovers gather to listen to records from around the world at various record stores in town center!

North Ogden, Utah, is a census-designated place in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,534 at the 2010 census. North Ogden is located on the north side of the Klamath Mountains and bordered by Cottonwood Heights to the east and west. It includes a small community known as Grouse Mountain. The first Europeans to visit what is now North Ogden were Spanish traders who passed through the area in 1827. A post office was established in 1836, and a store was built in 1840. In 1847 an LDS Church branch was organized here; it still exists today as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' (LDS Church) North Ogden Branch. A sawmill and gristmill were built here in 1863 and 1865 respectively; both are gone but their foundations remain visible today near Grouse Mountain Community Park. In 1902 North Ogden became part of Kane County when it was created from parts of Butte County and Carbon County. The population had grown sufficiently that a town site - named after George Sperry - was surveyed at what is now its center across from Cottonwood Heights Elementary School (now known as East Cottonwood Elementary). On July 20, 1916, the town plat for North Ogden was filed with the county recorder's office; on November 15th that year residents voted to name their new town after General George Armstrong Custer (1863-1937). Today's North Ogdonians trace their ancestry back to pioneer days when many families lived close together on hundreds or even thousand acre homesteads scattered throughout eastern Oregon Territory during the early 1800s before Settlers moved westward overland into present day Kane County looking for land rich enough in minerals to justify leave behind homes and farmssteads large enough for more than one family to live upon while developing them self into townships or precincts consisting of about twenty lots each with public square fronting upon high mountain bluffs overlooking unincorporated areas lying within easy reach of major settlements then called outposts with mail delivery being available only two weeks away which resulted in growth rates so high there were entire villages abandoned not long after settlement began primarily because no one wanted to come down off these high mountains
North Ogden, Utah was founded by the Mormons in 1847. The city was named after North Ogden, an ancient site in upstate New York that is now part of Albany, New York. The Mormon pioneers first arrived here in 1846 and founded the town on a land grant from the LDS Church. North Ogden grew rapidly and by 1860 had a population of over 5,000 people. It became an important regional center for the production of woolen fabrics and also served as a base for missionary work. In 1924, North Ogden merged with neighboring Provo to form the larger city of Provo-North Ogden.
