North Ogden, Utah is a town in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 4,624 at the 2010 census. North Ogden is part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. The Rocky Mountains are to the east and the Wasatch Range to the west. The first Europeans to visit what is now North Ogden came in 1847 while searching for gold in what is now Colorado. They named their new settlement after Scottish explorer David Stevenson who had explored that area some time earlier. In 1855, Brigham Young ordered all Mormons living east of Deseret Canyon be moved west because he felt they were becoming too spread out and weak in comparison with those living in central Utah. This forced many families to leave their homes and start anew on a harsh mountain landscape where there was little food or water available for them as well as hostile Native Americans who looked down on them. Asians started moving into this area beginning in the early 1900s when they started coming to work on various irrigation projects around Uinta Basin which included north Ogden and parts ofCache Valley,435 miles south of Salt Lake City on I-15 South which then connected with I-70/I-81 near Provo over mountains northeast of North Ogden (now called Sevier Hills). North Ogdens growth began slowly but steadily over time as more people Came and settled here including both LDS Church members and non-LDS members from surrounding counties until it reached its current size today. There have been several major events throughout history that have shaped how North Ogdeen has evolved: 1) World War II – Many local residents served in various military units during World War II such as the Mormon Air Force Unit #2 stationed at Red Hill Air Force Base (later Kearney AFB), Iraq; USS Relief Society Rifles Group attached to USS Arizona during Gulf War; Mormon Battalion serving alongside Japanese troops during Battle of Okinawa; Latter Day Saint Women’s Auxiliary Service working with American Red Cross setting up hospitals throughout Japan; Latter Day Saint Men’s Auxiliary Service providing support services at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard prior to surrender etc…. 2) Korean War – On July 12th 1950 Korean war veteran James Moyle arrived here from Logan Airport bringing his 1948 Ford Fairlane Wagon filled with supplies needed by locals fighting against Communist forces loyal to Kim Il Sung…..Moyle became known as “The Cement Truck Guy” due to his route delivering cement blocks necessary for construction projects across Korea……..In total Moyle delivered more than 2 million bricks, mortar, lime and other building materials across Koreas 38 years……………Many local residents also served tours overseas with LDS units earning medals for heroism such as First Lieutenant Bob Babcock who traveled To Germany serving 5 months before being discharged after shooting down two enemy planes while flying an F4U Corsair fighter jet….Many others were honorably discharged such as Petty Officer 3rd Class Curtis Dyer who spent 25 months volunteering with Navy SEAL Team Six along side his friend Captain Jim Bridgeman leading raids deep inside Vietnam…. Dyer eventually became a POW After being captured by Viet Cong

North Ogden, Utah is a small town located in Weber County, Utah. It was established in 1868 as the site of a new Mormon settlement on the banks of the Green River. The town quickly grew and soon became an important center for Mormon agriculture and trade. In 1916, North Ogden was incorporated as a city. It rapidly grew in population and commerce, and by 1920 had become one of the most populous cities in Weber County. Over the years, North Ogden has made significant contributions to its community and to Utah society as a whole. The city's founders were religious dissidents who had left Nauvoo, Illinois after being driven out of that city by Joseph Smith's followers. The group which founded North Ogden included John Coyle, George Waddell, Sidney Rigdon, Parley Pritchett, Lorenzo Snow, Thomas Sowell and Brigham Young Jr.. After leaving Nauvoo they traveled through central Iowa Territory before reaching Weber County in early 1868. They settled on land east of present-day North Ogden on the banks of the Green River. At first there were only six families living in this pioneer colony; however, within two years there were over 100 people living here." In 1916 North Ogden became one of three cities within Weber County when it was organized from portions of Johnson City (now Overland Park) and American Fork (now Provo). As one of Weber County's largest cities it attracted many businesses and citizens from throughout northeastern Utah who found work opportunities hereabouts at heavy agricultural production plants such as those operated by Deseret Industries or Bechtel Corporation (later Bechtel National Corporation). Many residents also chose to settle here because it offered good schools with excellent public health services relative to other parts of Wasatch Front country where tuberculosis rates were high due to exposure to Indians during their nomadic hunting/ gathering expeditions during the Great Basinavage period some 4500 years ago." Today North OgDEN is still an important partof our community with its rich cultural history dating back over 160 years! North Ogden is a city in the Utah Valley region of the United States. The population was 3,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of Ogden-Clearfield County. The first permanent settler in what is now North Ogden was George Haughton, who built a cabin on Rancho San Pedro in 1847. A post office called North Ogden was established in 1871, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. During World War I, North Ogden served as a base for military forces operating along the Wasatch Front. In 1918, local businesses organized to form the North Ogden Chamber of Commerce. In 1930, president Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered an address at Weber State University here which helped spur growth and development around the university over time In 1954, Uinta County formed a new district including parts of north Ogden and south Provo Township; this created what is now north Ogdens city limits In 1957, following passage of Publish or Perish Legislation (PPL), local leaders recommended that the name be changed from "north" to "OgDEN". On July 14, 1957 – just days after he became governor of Utah – Orval Faubus announced plans to build a dam on Lake Powell would impact many small towns upstream including those near Cedar City and North Olathe OgDEN replaced PPL as top priority for town planners across Utah This led to some opposition among residents who felt they had been given short shrift when it came toDevelopment opportunities within their community during Faubus's time as Governor
