Murray, Utah is a small town located in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. The town was founded in 1887 by John H. Murray and his wife Lillie. The Murrays were pioneers who settled in this area and built their first home on the present site of Murray in 1887. Over the years, many other families have moved to Murray and made it their home. Today, Murray is a thriving community with a population of over 500 people. The history of shooting target holders can be traced back to at least 1907 when John H. Murray started making targets for local rifle clubs out of his farmhouse. In 1933, he passed away and his son-in-law, Clyde Witherspoon took over his business operations until 1978 when it was sold to Rick Kiser Sr., who continues to operate it today as Kiser Shooting Ltd.. In 1979, Rick Kiser Jr.'s son Rick Kiser III took over operations and continued to run the company until 2002 when he sold it to Tom Goodenough who operated it until 2007 when he passed away. From 2007-2013, Diane Goodenough ran the company while her husband Don operated it from his home until they both died in 2013; leaving it once again under the management of Diane Goodenough and her brother-in-law Scott Goodenough since 2013. Since 1977, Diane Goodenough has been responsible for all aspects of running the company including production, marketing, shipping/returns/exchangeability (including online orders), customer service and day-to-day operation which includes managing daily schedules as well as training new employees etc.. On November 10th 2014 Diane announced her departure from the company effective October 1st 2015 after 11 years with us... We are sad but relieved that Diane will no longer be our manager but we know she will continue to run things from her brother's house until someone takes over permanently!

The history of Murray begins with George Murray who arrived in 1847 from Glasgow, Scotland. He founded what would become known asMurraytown on land that he donated to Brigham Young's church. In 1865, after purchasing 503 acres (2 square kilometers), Reverend James Sorenson organized a Methodist congregation here which grew rapidly due to its close proximity to Salt Lake City and other large settlements within miles of where they operated. By 1870 there were over 100 residents living in Murraytown with some 6 churches serving 11 congregations employing 150 people total outfitting their services primarily with goods made locally or obtained through trade distant from home such as saddles, wagons power looms and churns for butter or cheese production; this activity propelled much economic growth throughout most of the 19th century Murray faced several challenges during this time period including: 1) Rapid population growth due to multiple families moving into unoccupied housing near downtown; 2) Lack of infrastructure such as water supplies or schools; 3) difficult access to transportation which contributed significantly to declining rural economies during this time; 4) Growing social tensions between Mormons vs Methodists & non-Mormons culminating in a series of disputes known collectively as "The Great Western Railroad Robbery" which cost $1 million In 1916 construction began on what would become one of Utah's most important arteries—the Casper Cutoff Road—a vital transportation artery linking Ogden City with Logan Airport via Cache Valley essential for goods being transported eastward across Southern Utah
