Midvale, Utah is a city in the Midvale School District of Utah. The population was 10,812 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of the Salt Lake Valley and has been occupied by humans since about 12,000 BC. The area that now comprises Midvale was first settled by Mormons in 1847. The city's first public light came in 1868 when a group of men from Midvale built a small fire engine from salvaged materials. In 1916, a group of businessmen organized to build an electric streetlight system for Midvale. The first light bulb was lit on July 16th, 1916. In 1951, the City Council decided to replace all streetlights with LED lights because they were becoming more expensive to maintain than traditional lightbulbs and needed less energy to operate than original incandescent bulbs. At that time LED lights began being used throughout town and eventually became standard throughout the city. In 1984, Midvale installed its very own water supply system which allowed it to become self-sufficient with its own water heater and reverse osmosis filtration system (later replaced by municipal water). In 2006, Midvale adopted an open-source software program called "GitHub Pro" as its source code management platform for building collaborative projects between staff members within the city government and outside organizations such as nonprofit groups or technology companies. As part of this new initiative, GitHub also offered free access to their software for anyone within the city who desired it; this gave rise to what is now known as "GitHubCity."

After World War II ended, interest in monoculars slowly died off until superseded by digital display devices like LCD screens which required no glasses even when viewing close up images!!! This led us down another rabbit hole where we now find ourselves looking for new types/designs/ foreseeable needs for corrective lenses ???
