There were two main tribes of these people- the Paiute and the Shoshoni. When Mormon missionaries came to this area in 1847, they found both tribes living together peacefully. However, when they asked them what they wanted from these new friends, it seems as if some of the Paiutes had a different plan for their land. Some of them started to build tool caches which they would use as an opportunity to take away any food or weapons that were left behind by their tribe’s predecessors. One night, a group of Mormons discovered these caches and decided to raid them. They didn’t find anything but a few tools and blankets which the Indians used to cover themselves while they debated what to do next. Eventually, some of the Mormons decided that violence was not going to work out and formed a militia called The Company . This company consisted of men from all over Utah Territory- some volunteers, some Latter-day Saints (Mormons who followed Jesus Christ), and others hired by church leaders as bodyguards or scouts. The members of The Company began hunting down any Indian villagers who had weapons or food cached anywhere near their homes. If anyone managed to get away with any goods, the company burned whatever was found intact so that nothing could be taken home with them . In 1861, one of The Company’s officers named George Richards killed six Indians in cold blood after mistakenly thinking they were friendly people . It wasn't until 1898 when Brigham Young ordered his troops into Midvale specifically because he knew there would be more attacks against settlers here than elsewhere in Provo County One year earlier on January 6th 1887 , nine settlers named John Waddell , James Hales , John Stephenson , William Neuman & Solomon Pratt founded a store at what is now known as Village #1 on Cedar Mesa . This store became one of the most important businesses in Midvale during its early years because it traded goods with other companies located upcountry The town slowly grew around this store until about 1912 when another store called Pine View opened up next door In 1916 someone bought Pine View fromthe previous owner for $2,000 cash In 1924 another store called Walmart opened up next door also selling groceries In 1949 Walmart merged with Sam's Club becoming Walgreens

The park was finally built in 1880 and became one of Mormonism's most iconic landmarks. Midvale has also played an important role in Utah history. In 1840s and 1850s much Of today's Utah was still part OF Mexico City – so when Mormon missionaries came through central America via Texas there was much interest & debate about westward movement w/o Christendom’s blessings! midvalley center served as “cabinet” from los angeles thru san Francisco until 1890-1891
