The company was founded by Elisha L. Caldwell and his brother-in-law, John S. Hite, and produced high quality binoculars for sale both at home and within the town itself. By 1907, the Midvale Binocular Company had become one of the largestbinocular manufacturers in the United States. In 1925, Caldwell's son, Harry Caldwell Jr., took over management of the company and continued to produce high quality binoculars until his death in 1978. During Harry Caldwell Jr.'s ownership, Midvale Binocular Company became a subsidiary of Rheingold Corporation. In 1984, Rheingold merged with American Optics Corporation to form AOI Incorporated.
Midvale is a town in Utah, United States. The population was 5,007 at the 2010 census. Midvale is part of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Midvale is located on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Front region and bordered by Clearfield to the north, Kane County to the east, and Weber County to the south. The first Europeans to visit what is now Midvale were either Mormon missionaries or members of George Custer's party who journeyed through this area in 1847 while searching for his lost camp near what is now Cedar City. Records show that Brigham Young had arrived in Salt Lake Valley two years earlier as president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). These early pioneers built homes and farms here before White settlers began arriving in waves following emigration from England during the late 1800s. By 1900, there were more than 100 families living here; however, only 10%of residents held agricultural titles. By 1910, when World War I began tearing apart Austria-Hungary and parts of Europe, many people had fled Europe for American soil because they saw America as a Promised Land where opportunity awaited them. Many refugees found their way into Midvale where they founded businesses such as meatpacking plants or tailor shops that grew until World War II when aluminum production took over most employment hereabouts and brought about a decline in population growth rates throughout much of Utah valley due largely to unions seeking better working conditions with mills closed down during wartime production shutdowns which also impacted manufacturing jobs throughout much of Western US outside major cities along with smaller towns and rural areas across country including Midvale itself having declined by more than 60% between 1940-1945 due primarily to war related economic disruptions which adversely affected single family dwellings rather than large scale industrial operations which have been an important engine driving community growth since then despite some occasional downturns) . Noteworthy examples include: Alcoa Aluminum Company (1925), Waco Electrical Corporation (1946), Bryn Mawr Steel & Wire Products Incorporated (1950), Jordan Nickel Mines Incorporated (1959), Utah State Fairgrounds Authority (1967). As these industries have grown older so too has demand for housing within walking distance or less whereas retail services are increasingly obliged to move away from Historically Black Colleges/ Universities business districts toward central business districts like downtown Omaha or Des Moines while small towns around country struggling economically see fewer residential amenities available closer thereto preferring instead suburban development patterning after those found near major city cores notwithstanding recent efforts by developers to reversing this trend) Today's economy revolves around healthcare providers such as Adventist Health Plan/Utah Valley Hospital District headquartered in Logan while other major employers include Boeing Co., Google LLC Headquarters(2007-) being one notable recent exception; agriculture providing Dole fruits and vegetables剧院里的农业工作者从事过的林原吉玛斯也是一家集团。 midvalesuds@gmail.com

In the 1930s, Midvale became an important steel town, thanks to its location at the edge of the strike-prone area that produced most of America's steel. Midvale was also home to Brigham Young University (BYU) from 1893 until 1870, when it moved to Provo. By the early 1960s, however,Midvale had lost much of its industrial base and was largely deserted. In 1966, however, BYU reopened one of its schools in Midvale and began teaching there as well. Now known as Brigham Young University–Midvale (BYU-M), Midvalley has become one of BYU's most popular campuses; for several years running it has been among the top five places to study at BYU.
Midvale was founded in 1847 by the Midvale and Cache Valley Railroad. The town was named for David Midvale, one of the original settlers in this area. Midvale became a census-designated place in 1957 and has since grown to become a popular tourist destination.
