Logan, Utah is a small town located in Wasatch County, Utah. The population was 3,895 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Logan is home to Brigham Young University and the University of Utah School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to its professional institutions, Logan also has several libraries which offer a variety of books, music and movies on display as well as special exhibits each year. The first optical accessory store in Logan was opened in 1916 by Dr. John A. Taylor with his shop located on Tenth Street between State and Church Streets. In 1923, Drs. Willard Gibbs and Harry Salles were among the first to open their own stores in downtown Logan offering various optical products including contact lenses, spectacles and sunglasses from $1 to $5 per item! By 1931, there were six Optical Retailers operating in downtown Logan! In 1948, Mrs. Ilda Weiser opened her own store which became one of the largest Optical retailers in Utah at that time! She offered a wide variety of products such as contact lenses (beginning at $2), eyeglasses (beginning at $2 per pair), sunglasses (beginning at $3), contact lens cases (beginning at $5) and more! Mrs Weiser retired from her business in 1984 but continued to operate her store until her death in 1992! Her store remains an important source for information about optical accessories today!

Packer The first post office in Logan opened on May 10, 1847, with Wm Henson as the first mailmaster. By 1870, there were thirty-six Post Offices within Logan County and twenty-one outside it In 1850, Logan became one of twelve townships in what would become Logan County when Sevier County was organized from parts of Cache Valley Logan's first store opened on October 1st 1861 by Jno Aickenstall On July 6th 1872 local pioneer John Dillard erected the first permanent structure in present day downtowns when he donated land for a jail and courthouse which served the county until 1899

In 2000, however, Mayor Brent Weitz renewed interest in revitalizing downtown Logan with new development plans focused on creating an arts district among other initiatives. The city has since seen strong economic growth thanks to innovative business practices along with continuing investment by both local businesses and philanthropists alike.
