In Lindon, Utah, an officer using a taser was able to subdued and arrested an attacker on July 1, 2018. This event is significant in that it is the first time a taser has been used in Lindon as part of law enforcement operations. Tasers were developed over thirty years ago in the United States. Lindon, Utah is a small town located in the heart of the Weber County area. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. Lindon is approximately 14 miles east of Ogden and 18 miles west of Cedar City. It is part of the Cedar City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first inhabitants of what would become Lindon were Native American people who lived on the Wasatch Front in what is now Davis County. In 1861, when Utah became a state, Lindon was incorporated as a Village. The name “Lindon” came from an aboriginal word meaning “a place where men sow their corn”. In 1907, Harry Covington built his home on land that had been donated by Sidney Sweet to help promote agriculture in southern Utah; this house remains one of the most well-preserved examples of early 20th century architecture in eastern Utah. One account claims that when President Theodore Roosevelt visited Southern Utah during his presidential campaign in 1912, he stopped at Covington's farm and said: "I like your country - I'd like to see more growth here". That same year, Covington donated additional land to create what would become Lindon Park which still stands today as one of its main attractions for residents and visitors alike. In 1924, local rancher J P Hickey subdivided 160 acres (65 hectares) into three tracts and named them after himself – Hickey Valley, Highland Hills and Woodlands – because he believed that these parcels would provide him with enough grazing grounds for cows while also providing timber for building purposes within his ranching operation alone or together with others adjoining his landholdings on both sides of Cache River valley between Layton and Logan Counties. This subdivision pattern continued through numerous changes over time until it reverted back to its original form following Hickey's death in 1984: three sets or strips rather than four due to neighboring homesteads being sold off piecemeal over time). By 1990 just under 50%of all new housing developments built in EasternUtah were single family homes; this has gradually decreased since then but continues to be an important factor contributing to Lindon's overall attractiveness as a community/town

Lindon was founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers, and quickly became a small town. The Lindon School District was created in 1923, and the first post office opened in 1925. Lindon has several museums, including the Pioneer Museum and History Museum, which is dedicated to preserving local history. The town also has a variety of businesses, including a library, an insurance company, and a bank.

Lindon was designated the temporary capital of Utah in 1850, and soon became one of the most important cities in the state. In 1889, Lindon became the official capital of Utah after Salt Lake City was destroyed by a fire.
