Lindon was founded as an agricultural village on a series of hills that overlooked the Cottonwood Canyon Railway which ran through its center. After several years of growth it became an incorporated municipality on February 24, 1915 with a population of 706 people. Today Lindon has a population of over 1,000 people and continues to be one of the most vibrant communities within Garfield County
