Lindon's economy depends on agriculture; corn, wheat, soybeans, cottonseed oil production are some of its main industries. Today, much of the town remains rural with agriculture still being a major part of their economy. However, there are recent development projects that have brought new life to the town including a new elementary school and new housing developments.

The population of Lindon grew rapidly during the early years of the 20th century, reaching its peak in 1920 with over 1,500 residents. However, growth slowed thereafter and Lindon's population decreased to just over 200 by 2009.
