Lehi, Utah is a city located in Kane County, Utah. The population was 10,829 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kane County. The city was founded in 1847 by pioneers who came from eastern Illinois, and named after Lehi, an ancient Hebrew town that was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC. The initial settlers were primarily Mormon missionaries who arrived in early 1847. Over time, other religions were also represented in Lehi; including Seventh-day Adventists and Methodists. By 1860, the population had increased to 20 families. In 1870, Lehi became a City of Commerce with its own government and police department. In 1907 it became a Town when the adjacent towns of North Logan and South Logan merged into one community. In 1967 (due to population growth), LeHI annexd neighboring University Park which had been part of University Heights since 1912 and annexed University Oaks from West Jordan on December 1st that same year making it one municipality with two cities status!
