The Utah Valley Football League (UVFL) was a professional American football league that had its first season in 1951. The UVFL was part of the National Football League (NFL) from 1954 to 1960. The Utah Valley Indians, who were based in Lehi, played their home games at 3Mills Stadium. In 1961, the team moved to America West Stadium and became the Lingle Chiefs. In 1962, they changed their name to the Lingle Flames and played their last game at America West Stadium on November 6th, 1962. In 1969, the USFL merged with the NFL and formed what is now known as the NFL Network’s American Football Conference (AFC). The Lingle Chiefs were not among those teams which joined this new conference. However, they continued to play as an independent team until 1971 when they rejoined the AFL for one more season before being disbanded again. In 1992, the United States Football League absorbed most of what is now known as Arena Football League (AFL). The Lingle Chiefs would not be re-established in this new league but did join it briefly during its early years prior to disbanding again in 1994. They would not renew their affiliation after that point and ceased operations entirely in 1995.

Lehi was an ancient city in the heart of the American West, located on the east bank of the Great Salt Lake. The town was founded by Jaredites in about 385 BC, and soon became a center for Mormon missionaries. In 1847, Lehi was chosen as the site for Brigham Young’s new mission station, which became known as Nauvoo. After Iowa State University were moved to Nauvoo in 1852, Lehi gradually fell out of favor among Mormons and eventually disappeared from history. Today it is a ghost town that remains largely unvisited. Lehi was first mentioned in writing by Polynesian traders circa 1000 BC. It may have been built on an earlier site called Liahona, which lay near present-day Provo. By 300 BC, Lehi had become a major center of religious worship around which many clans gathered to debate religious questions related to shamanism and witchcraft. In 421 AD, Mormon missionary George Smith discovered what he supposed to be an ancient buried city at Liahona – apparently occupied since time immemorial by people who worshipped gods other than Yahweh. Brigham Young chose this spot as his new headquarters for his nascent Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). In 1847, Lehi residents voted unanimously not to incorporation into any larger municipality; instead they formed their own independent community under the leadership of Orson Pratt (1812-1875), one of LDS Church’s early prophets and leaders in Utah Territory (see also History section below). For more than two decades prior to its incorporation into Salt Lake City in 1912/13 – during which time it experienced rapid growth thanks to cheap land available on the eastern side of the Great Salt Lake –Lehi functioned as a sleepy farming village with few amenities save for its local church and schoolhouse. Even today there are few places within walking distance where you can find evidence that once thrived as a vibrant cultural center while also serving as home to some 2 million LDS followers over several hundred years! Despite being little more than a hamlet before 1912/13 when it became part of Salt Lake City proper – notwithstanding claims made by some boosters that “Lehi always looked like Hollywood set Decatur Square right down [to] Main Street”5*6*7†8†9†10*11—the historical record does suggest that after incorporation into downtownSaltLakeCityLeHi continued experience steady population growth until 1914 when its peak reached 10,000 residents.*12 Once again however population decline followed shortly thereafter due mainly to factors including changes associated with World War I (#1 death toll from wars ever recorded in America) & II (#2 lossof8000 jobs due primarilyto strikes & mass unemployment*)13*14¶¶¶¶*. With only 400 residents remaining by 1920*,15†16*,17*/18**—just 50% or fewer compared with pre-War era†19‡20*21 —it is clear that despite modernization campaigns such As Mayor Harry Benson put it: “The whole thing has gone through about 20 changes since 1912 [when incorporated into Salt Lake City], without our knowledge or consent!”22**23**24™25 —despite valiant efforts over many years by various governmental bodies both legislatively and administratively alike53***54****55®56″57**58″59 —LeHI played little role either historically or presently within salt lake city government purview even thoughPopulation Growth rates between 1911–1920 ranged from 9%. To date no comprehensive study has been undertaken documenting how well or poorly LeHI did relative both historically AND currently within contemporary values given exponentially increasing demands placed upon public services emanating from rapidly changing social demographics

Lehi was founded by Mormon missionaries in the late 1800s. The town quickly grew in popularity due to its location, good soil, and natural resources. Today, Lehi is a thriving community with a rich history that can be enjoyed today as well as future generations. Lehi's beginnings can be traced back to 1847 when Mormon missionaries discovered an area of land that would eventually become Lehi. The Mormons were able to purchase the land from the local Native Americans for $3 per acre. The missionaries began construction on a small farm named NorthTemple which served as their headquarters until they arrived in what is now Lehi in 1851. The early years of Lehi were difficult; however, through hard work and prayer, the Mormons were able to establish themselves as a successful community. soon after they began building their first school, also called NorthTemple School. Over time, church members continued to build more homes and businesses within the boundaries of present-day LeHI including Zion Chapel (now known as NorthSalt Lake Temple), Smithfield Rd., and Milford Canyon Road which are still standing today. In 1902, President Wilford Woodruff convened a special meeting atMount Moriah where he prescribed guidelines for how Latter-day Saints should live their lives according to principles taught by Jesus Christ himself. This event became known as The Great Black Hawk Stake Conference which helped shape LeHI into what it is today. In 1923, Brigham Young announced his retirement from leadership of the LDS Church and handed over control of the church to Joseph Smith III who had been elected president two years earlier on November 6th of that year during General Conference held in Nauvoo Illinois . At this point things began to change for LeHI residents; however it wasn't all bad news! Many new businesses cropped up such as Hyrum’s grocery store (later renamed First United Methodist) which doubled as a printing press for religious publications such as The Ensign and Herald Tribune; Alpine Grain Elevator which provided essential food supplies for locals and travelers alike;and later still BYU’s tennis courts which continue to provide opportunities for fun and recreation today! Today there are many reminders throughout town of how much has come since those early days including several historical museums including Mount Moriah Museum & History Museum located just east of town on State Route 443; Pioneer Place Mall across from University Stadium featuring exhibits about both Utah Valley pioneers who came before us along with buildings used during various periods throughout our state’s history;the restored Nauvoo Mansion adjacent thereto containing artifacts related both historically speaking (eager wives helping bake Liberty Baked Goods - one example);and currently living family memories like Michael Jordan’s house being renovated into bedrooms amounting not only To His professional basketball career but also parts 2 thru 5 chronicling different aspects or portions thereof associated with Heber J Spencer Kimball...thus providing additional insight or perspective never before available about this important member or patriarch

The city was located on the Wasatch Plateau, about 25 miles (40 km) north of Salt Lake City and 12 miles (19 km) east of Nephi's landing site on the Great Salt Lake. Lehi lay within present-day Davis County, but its territory extended up to what is now Cache Valley.
