Lehi is a small town located in Utah County, about an hour and forty minutes south of Salt Lake City. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. Aftermath included several fires in various parts of the city which damaged over $1 million worth of property damage (including $100,000 damage done to LDS temples). As part of efforts to revitalize Lehi following this crisis, Mayor Randal Sorenson created a downtown business district known as "The Triangle". Development continued through World War II with heavy industry moving out into new facilities north of Main Street while office and residential buildings were erected along North First Street between Center Boulevard and State Parkway West (now Interstate 15). There has been little recent development except for occasional periodic renovations to older structures within The Triangle since then apart from minor expansions or replacements of building facades that may occur when an important event occurs such as an Olympics or conference/convention nearby

Lehi, Utah is a city in the Lehi-Orem metropolitan area and was founded in 1847 as a Mormon settlement on the slope of Mount Carmel. The LDS Church moved its headquarters from Nauvoo, Illinois to Lehi in 1850, and the first Mormon temple was built there in 1853. The population of Lehi grew rapidly during the 1850s and 1860s, reaching over 10,000 by 1870. In 1865, Brigham Young recommended that the entire LDS Church move from Nauvoo to Lehi because of concerns about an impending Indian attack. The move turned out to be successful; by 1870 LeHI had become one of the most populous cities in America. The growth of LeHI led to some tension between Mormons and non-Mormons. In 1868, a group of Mormon converts who had fled Nauvoo organized an effort to expel all non-Mormons from the city. This failed; however, it did lead to several confrontations between Mormons and non-Mormons. In 1880 a major fire destroyed much of downtown LeHI, but Mayor John Taylor (a Latter Day Saint) responded with a public apology for what he saw as arson by Mormons working against their own community rather than fighting against an invading force. During World War I, many refugees from Europe settled in LeHI and helped spur economic development. However, many other residents objected to being forced into close quarters with Mormons; after hostilities ended in 1918 most people living near Temple Square left or were driven out by mobs unaffiliated with either side. Afterward there was a period of stability until new demographic changes causedBYU students and others soon moving into positions of power within local government beginning in the late 1960s when City Councilmember Don Wirth became mayor
