By 1870, Lehi's commercial district had developed into what is now known as downtown Lehi with several brick buildings still standing today including The Cottonwood House which served as both local courthouse and library until it burned down in 1925; The Masonic Temple which housed a popular bakery that still stands today; and Wells Fargo building which currently houses a number of retail stores including JCPenney, Macy’s Department Store, Sears Roebuck & Co., Kmart & Co., Applebees & Co., Cinemark 16 theater complex (now Regal) In 1912 Lehi electrocuted three men forioneering across state lines after they accidentally lost power while trying to build an experimental electric streetcar line using current owned by Deseret Electric Company
