The mills were destroyed by fire in 1903, but another mill was built soon after and remains active to this day. In 1907, a cannon was placed on the square near where Main Street meets 3rd Street. Kaysville, Utah is a small town located in Weber County, Utah. The population was 2,693 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Weber County. The community was founded by Mormons in 1847 as a settlement on the banks of the Sevier River. It was renamed Kaysville in 1891 after Brigham Young's brother-in-law, A.K. Hinkle. The original Mormon settlers were families from Illinois and Missouri who arrived in wagons and handcarts overland from Nauvoo, IL on February 6, 1847. They named their new home "Kaysville" after President Young's father-in-law, William Ewing Kinsman (1802–1886), also known as Kimball or Kitson because of his ownership of an estate near present day Provo City (now Park City). In 1870, several thousand additional Latter Day Saints had arrived in what is now Weber County and villages were established around the regional center:unnamed place (later Uniondale), Springdale (later Hagerman), Pleasant Grove (later Richfield), Cedar City (later Cedar Hill) and Vernal ( later Orem). In 1871 Kaysville became the first incorporated town in Utah when itwas platted by commissioners appointed by Mayor George Wurtzel of Springdale to resolve a land dispute between two claimants: Hiram Bigham and David Whitmer Jr.. KaysVILLE incorporation occurred November 27th 1850 under Ute law #2145 which read “This Town shall be called hereafter KAYSVILLE” The first post office was opened in this town on October 3rd 1880 under mail order from New York City! On January 1st 1915 J.D White announced that he would no longer serve as mayor effective immediately due to ill health; thus Council took upon themselves powers to elect their own officers until such time as an election could be held for said position with voting taking place at regular business meetings… local elections continued until 1917 when they were discontinued because World War I caused many businesses closed down throughout Utah including most electric power plants; however there have been numerous referendums throughout history authorising various changes to city ordinances etc., so we can safely assume that something similar will happen again soon! In 1932 large portions of Farmington Valley east of Center Street northward were annexed into newly formed Ogden NEVY COASTAL CITIES AREA; however much like today’s zoning laws within each city limits vary greatly from one municipality to another making it difficult if not impossible for outsiders even attempting to charteer a course through these municipalities without leaving something behind! Accordingly it came as no surprise when Mayor James White announced on July 16th 1933 that all annexations since 1932 were final except for farmington valley which would continue unto itself since its citizens wanted annexation! This decision effectively ended all attempts at secession either through referendum or negotiation ever happening within our namesake city limits again!

Kays on November 3, 1872 as a station on the Great Southern Railway. The name "Kaysville" originated from nearby Cedar Mesa and refers to its location about midway between Cedar City and Provo. The first store in Kaysville was opened by Wm. H. Reeve on October 25, 1875. John Smeaton operated a general store from 1879-1883 before moving his business to what is now called Black Hawk Avenue in 1886. A post office was established at Kaysville on January 15, 1881, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1960. In 1912 the Agricultural Experiment Station (now known as Utah State University) was founded at Kaysville with funding provided by Congress under the Morrill Act of 1862 which aimed to promote land settlement throughout America by providing education and agricultural research opportunities for American farmers and their families
