Kaysville, Utah is a small town located in Ogden County, Utah, United States. It has a population of about 95 people. The town was first settled in the early 1800s and had a gun shop on Main Street until it closed in the late 1800s. In 1905, an ordinance was passed in Kaysville banning handguns from being carried without a license. This ordinance lasted for about 30 years before it was repealed in 1968. In 2007, Kaysville became the first city in Utah to ban bump stocks after they were discovered on sale at a local store. After widespread public outcry, the city council voted to repeal the ban two weeks later. Bump stocks are devices that allow firearms to fire more rounds per minute than normal due to their design. They have been used by some shooters to increase firepower beyond what is possible with standard weapons

In 1909, Kaysville was renamed Nauvoo after Mormon leader Joseph Smith's arrival there from Carthage Jail. The town experienced another boom during World War II as tensions between America and Nazi Germany escalated; however, following the war period saw declines in population and economic activity until Kaysville reverted back to its prewar level by 1970. Today, Kaysville remains an agricultural community with a strong Mormon presence, although some housing developments have emerged since the early 2000s providing more opportunities for residents to enjoy good quality living outside traditional agriculture
