On July 12th of that year, hurricane made landfall on Provo Beach after making landfall just east of Cedar City along US Highway 191A/US Highway 20A which is now known as "Hurricane Boulevard". Damage done to structures caused by the storm totaled $1 million dollars with 5% loss rate; this damage led to increased attention being given to hurricanes due to their potential destructive power than ever before.
