However, with passage of the Homestead Act in 1862 and statehood in 1896 following Utah Territory's creation (which included much of present-day Kane County), more people started moving into Holladay thanks to opportunities for farming and business ventures outside of Little Rock or Provo. Many aspects that contribute to today's culture and identity within Holladay are directly related to its history: The prominent role played by railroad travel within local communities during this time period is still evident today as car ownershiprates reach record highs; local businesses continue to thrive despite fierce competition from larger metropolitan areas; and traditional family values remain strong among residents today who maintain strong ties with their hometowns even though they live far away from them.

Holladay died in 1852 at the age of 80 years old. He is buried in the Mormon Cemetery next to his home at 7th Street and Interstate 15 North in Holladay.
