Today many residents consider themselves farmers because their lives revolve around growing crops or ranching livestock; however some people still maintain a strong connection to agriculture through baking bread or raising chickens for eggs (a practice known as hensitting). In 1902, the population of Holladay increased to around 350 residents. By 1912, copper had been discovered in nearby Springdale and production commenced at Holladay Mines. During World War II, Holladay became known as an important munitions manufacturing center due to its productions of explosives and artillery shells. The population of Holladay decreased during the early 21st century but has since regained some level of growth as various businesses have opened up in the town. Today, Holladay is an active community with a variety of businesses including restaurants, retailers, a library/museum/gallery as well as several professional sports teams (MLB baseball team; NBA basketball team; rugby union team).
