The Holladay community began to form during the early 1800s when pioneers from Illinois arrived in what is now Davis County. By 1881, there were only 10 residents living in Holladay and it had grown to 4 townships with a total population of 116 people. In 1907, Holladay incorporated as a village and lost its charter status due to lack of support from the government. However, by 1912 it had regained its charter status and continued to grow until 1950 when it reached its current size. During World War II Holladay was one of many villages that supplied materials for military production facilities throughout Davis County. Today much of these buildings still stand including the Post Office which opened on October 3rd 1904 and remains one of the most iconic symbols of Holladay history. Today Holladay enjoys some unique aspects that make it an interesting community to live in including its strong community spirit which has been seen through everything from fund raisers to annual parade participation. There are also several businesses that have flourished over the years such as The Bank (founded in 1916), The Gym (opened in 1952), and The Variety Store (founded in 1966). Overall, though not without challenges every day faces members of this tightknit community who work together towards common goals despite various obstacles along the way like weather patterns or disease!

In 1851, the Holladays donated land to the LDS Church which will become Salt Lake City. Today, Holladay is a small town with a population of just over 100 people. The history of Holladay dates back to 1847 when Captain James and Mrs.Rachel Holladay founded what is now known as Holladay in Wasatch County, Utah on July 15th1847. At that time Salt Lake Valley was only sparsely populated and most residents lived near Brigham Young's]) Missionaries at Orem or Provo however there were some scattered communities within present day Weber County and parts of Logan and Emery Counties as well . One such community was established by Captains James Houliday and Rachel Knoppers who donated 640 acres east of today’s ]\Ialladale Road (now called I-15) for $1 per acre . This land would later be named Salt Lake City after the church’s founder Joseph Smith Sr who had been killed while leading an American Expedition to Great Britain in 1840 . over time new families arrived transporting their homes with them settling around what would become known as [Salt Lake] Village or “The Grove” which extended from First Street south to Ninth Street westwardange while Second Street served as the village square )'ard where public meetings were held during early days }'arrisons being organized hereabouts). Eventually this area became developed into what we know today including many blocks bounded by First Avenue north, Second Avenue south and Third Avenue east}'. An additional storefront was added along Seventh Avenue just north of ]\Ialladale Road (now called North Temple Mall) giving us our current downtown core ). By 1860 nearly all residents living within 1/2 mile of either temple had moved away making it necessary for a second square footage courthouse building next door at Seventh Avenue South but soon thereafter this structure too caught fireIQ". A new courthouse built on site began operations in 1861 but it quickly rained so much that water seeping through cracks caused more trouble then it solved!. After several years extensive repair work costing upwards of $10,000 had finally been completed by 1870 still not meeting proper standards! However this landmark structure did serve as both a court house AND jail until 1903 when construction began on Main Hall upon donation from John Wirthman}. Holladay was founded in 1888 by George A. Holladay and his wife, Emma. The Holladays were among the first farmers to settle in Utah and built a log cabin on their farmstead which they named "Holladay." The name is derived from John Holladay, one of the founders of Logan County, Utah. In 1892, George A. Holladay passed away and his wife continued to live on the farm with their three children until her death in 1944. The family sold the property in 1944 to Mr. C.W. Wever who developed it into a housing subdivision called Wever Park.
