In Herriman, Utah, the first gun shop opened its doors in 1893. The store was located on Main Street and sold rifles, shotguns, handguns and other firearms. The store closed in 1954 but the history of the store is still alive and well today with a new location on Second Avenue in Herriman. The first handgun license in Utah was issued to George W. Stoner in 1898. In 1903, two pistols were registered with the Utah State Police: one called “Aurora” and another called “Phoenix”. This marked the beginning of gun ownership in Utah. In 1907, Fred Laudenbaugh opened a gunsmithing business at 8th & Main Streets in Herriman that became known as Laudenbaugh Bros., Incorporated (LBI). At this time, rifle sales were also conducted from this business. In 1912,enery Cramer opened his own armory at 319 S 2nd Ave., which became known as Cramer's Armory & Gun Shop (CAGS). As firearm sales increased throughoutUtah during this time period, so did Cramer's Armory's customer base; by 1915 it had become an independent business under the name of Armoury Arms Corporation (AAA). From 1916-1920 there was only one day per month that firearms could be purchased statewide due to World War I; however from 1920-1939 violence against women decreased significantly while ammunition prices rose exponentially due to World War II hysteria prices went up by 500%. However during prohibition era items such as firearms were not considered contraband like drugs which made them more available to civilians and dealers alike; however profits for these businesses plummeted making it difficult for them to stay open even after prohibition ended Gun stores reopened after prohibition officially ended on Jan 1st 1949 when state laws changed allowing any person over 21 years old to buy or possess any weapon without a license or registration card though some restrictions still remained including background checks done by local police departments NRA members enjoyed larger discounts off regular pricing until 1957 when NRA regulations changed again making it now illegal for anyone under eighteen years old to possess any type of firearm regardless of whether they have a license or not . After YEAR OF HARD TRADE FOR GUN STORES THROUGHOUT UTAH AFTER PERMISSION FROM STATE LEGISLATURE WAS BANNED THEY CLOSED UPON ITS END . Some shops continued operating until 1959 but most closures took place around 1951-1957

In 1923, Herriman residents filed a lawsuit to stop the city from building a gun range. The town's mayor refused to allow the range and the residents unsuccessfully went to court. In 1934, the Utah State Legislature passed a bill that made it illegal for any person toManufacture or possess fire arms without a license from the state. This law was repealed in 1937.

In addition to its educational opportunities for locals and visitors alike, Herriman offers unique shopping experiences available only within its borders such as handcrafted cheese products from nearby Cannonville Mountain Cheese Factory or traditional Scottish goods like kilts and tartans at Malloy's Clothing store located adjacent to historic First Baptist Church on Second Street which dates back to 1865!

Herriman is a small town in Juab County, Utah, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Great Salt Lake City metropolitan area. In 1847, Brigham Young surveyed and laid out this area as part of the Utah Territory. The original town name was Herriman Station but it was changed in 1851 to honor John A. Herriman, one of the first settlers in the area. The community began as a farming settlement with a few buildings erected in 1850 by pioneers John A. Herriman and his son Amos H. Herriman Jr.. In 1861, a post office was established at Herriman and mail continued to be delivered there until 1909 when it moved to Great Salt Lake City. Today, only oral history remains from early days of this small town with most residents having passed away since then or having moved away during recent decades. The current town site was laid out on November 3rd, 1847 by Brigham Young while he led an expedition through what is now Juab County looking for land for the new nation of Deseret which would be founded after Mormon settlers traveled across the Utah desert searching for water sources and mineral deposits that could sustain their efforts in constructing a new society on these strange new acres far from any human habitation or protections offered by Mother Earth herself! At that time Utah Territory consisted mostly of rolling hills covered in sagebrush and juniper scrubland; much like our own American Southwest today! Only 4 years later on January 6th 1848 (just prior to Brigham Young’s death), Heerimans were given their very own plat map/divisional survey including all present day Juab County located east-northeast of present day Cedar City along State Route 1308 !!! Sadly due to natural disaster (flooding) which destroyed more than 60% of pioneer homes & businesses within 2 months due primarily to heavy rainfall events common throughout SWUtah during those times; almost all surviving township records were lost forever until recently rediscovered & digitized thanks in large part to volunteers associated with LDS Church genealogy project known as “Mormon Trails” !! Many people who live close enough (& remember things clearly) can testify firsthand that platted boundaries exist today between sections/neighborhoods still visible on maps even if they may not appear on public property currently !!
