Heber is a town in the U.S. state of Utah, located on the Wasatch Plateau in south-central Weber County. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. Heber was founded in 1869 as a settlement by Mormons escaping polygamy and Swedish persecution. It became an agricultural center after being given land to do so by Brigham Young during his trip down the Great Basin Trail in 1876. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) began worshiping here in 1879. Mormon pioneers were forced from their homes in Nauvoo, Illinois, due to religious persecution there; Heber became one of their few havens. At first, most residents were farmers and miners; however, within a few years many had turned to ranching and other agricultural pursuits because they lacked access to irrigation water resources east of the Wasatch Mountains. In 1910, Heber became the site of one of the largest family weddings ever held when 90 people attended ShawnaJoan Smith's wedding at Shephard's Rancho Grande Hotel & Casino on State Route 66A northwest of town. This event helped establish Heber as a popular tourist destination for LDSchurch members and others interested in its history and culture along with its scenic attractions such as Mesa Verde National Park and Canyonlands National Park

There have been many advances in firearms safety and shooting protection since the beginning of hunting and shooting. One of the earliest gunSafety technologies was the use of firing pins that could be easily replaced if they became damaged or lost. This system allowed shooters to continue using their firearms even if one firing pin became detached from the weapon. The first organized Shooting Protection Association was founded in 1892 by two American rifle manufacturers, Edwin Booth and George Griffith. The association aimed to promote responsible hunting and shooting practices through education, regulation, and common industry standardization. In 1903, a new standard for firearm ejectors was created which eliminated most of the variability in ejector designs at the time. By 1911, all major firearms Manufacturers had adopted this standard. One important advance in firearm safety during this time period was the development of cocking blocks which prevented guns from being fired while someone else held them closed with one hand. This technology effectively saved lives by ensuring that only authorized individuals were able to fire firearms at any given time. Another early advancement in firearm safety was NRA’s “firearm comedian” rule which required that all handguns must be capable of discharging rounds regardless of where they were placed on the body (handgun position could not be changed without special permission). This rule helped prevent unintentional shootings by making it difficult for someone to shoot someone who had failed to comply with a safe gun handling policy

In the late 1800s, various firearms manufacturers developed shooting protection devices such as recoil shields and padded stocks. These measures helped reduce the chances of serious injury when firing a firearm.
