Huber, Utah has been a place of rifle shooting for over eighty years. The town was first settled in 1873 and started using the red dot sight system in 1895. In 1907, the Heber Rifle Club was established and began using the red dot sight system.
Heber, Utah is a city in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The population was 9,531 at the 2010 census. Heber is located on the edge of the Wasatch Mountains and includes portions of the Bear River Valley. Heber is sometimes called "The Switzerland of America", due to its location near two major ski resorts and its proximity to Lake Powell. Heber's history can be traced back to 1847 when Brigham Young founded what would become Heber City on the lower Bear River valley floor. The city was named for Heber Cattle Company president John Heber. In 1868, he donated land to establish an agricultural college in Hebersville which became BYU-Hawaii in 1903. After World War II, several businesses moved into town from outside hebersville including Maurer & Wirth Sporting Goods Co., Bechtel Corporation (later Bechtel National), and Samson Aircraft Corporation (later Hughes Aircraft). In 1961, Mormon pioneers John Dallin and Charles Hales arrived in what used to be known as Springdale but decided it would be easier just call it Heber after President Young himself did so during a visit there that year. The original town plat included sections of Springdale; however, this was dropped because residents were afraid they would lose their access to water supplies if they moved closer to Salt Lake City or Provo on the other side of the mountain range. In 1975, when Wall Stapleton built a new high school east of town center only 2 blocks away from where most people lived then (& still do), part of that school district's budget went towards purchasing 8 acres north of downtown for what would become Evergreen Park High School which opened in 1978 with 456 students grades 10-12 under one roof for all 3 years until 1984 when Wall Stapleton closed down after bankruptcy due largely to overspending by administrators who wanted more space than needed and not enough money coming in from tuition fees & donations like those made by President Young himself! That event forever changed how many people knew about & appreciate HEBER CITY!

In 1880, Heber became the county seat of Carbon County and soon began to attract other Mormons as well. By 1907, the population had grown to 1,500 people and by 1915 it had reached 2,000 people. During World War II, Heber played a significant role in the war effort thanks to its sizable military presence in Carbon County. From 1941 until 1945, Heber served as the home base for two Air Forces Groups which were responsible for providing logistical support for Allied troops deployed across Europe during World War II. Additionally, during this time period HeBER also hosted several thousand civilian workers who helped to develop new industries within Carbon County through their work at various factories and farms throughout the area . In 1951 he merged with Cedar Mesa Ranch into one agricultural community known as Cedar Mesa Farms . Today many residents still reside within HeBERoğY although portions have been annexed into other municipalities over time
