Farmington, Utah is a city in the U.S. state of Utah and the county seat of Davis County. The population was 23,569 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Great Salt Lake and is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Farmington has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two thousand years, and its first European settlers were Mormon missionaries who arrived in 1847. The city's current form originated with a merger of two towns in 1907- 1908: Farmington Hills and Fort Douglas.
