Farmington, Utah is a city in the U.S. state of Utah and the seat of Farmington County. The population was 25,898 at the 2010 census. Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 11,812 at the 2010 census. Farmington is the county seat of Davis County. It lies on the edge of Davis Mesa National Monument and is bordered by the Navajo Nation to the south, the Utah River to the east, and South Sevier County to the north. The first white settlers in what is now Farmington arrived in 1847 from Illinois. The town was founded on September 15, 1850 by five men from Ohio: John Arthur, George Purdy, Isaac Warner, Martin Tappan and William Hartsfield. However due to lottery results Cottonwood became part of American Fork while Farmington remained within its original township boundaries until 1907 when it was annexed by Cottonwood.
