Eagle Mountain is a town in Eagle County, Utah, United States. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name for the town comes from nearby Ute Mountain and Eagle Peak. The first settler in Eagle Mountain was George Catlett and his wife Nancy who arrived on September 26, 1847. They built a cabin on what is now called Catlett Road. In 1848 another pioneer named John Hixon settled there with his family and they soon had six children born here. Hixon's brother-in-law James Waddell also lived in Eagle Valley at that time. In 1861, several Mormon pioneers located in what is now Eagle Mountain and started to farm land around present day Catlett Road and West Mesa Street. On January 6th of that year they organized as the "Eagle Masons", later changing their name to "The Masonic Lodge No 1" because it was illegal for them to use any other names during this period due to Indianhunger laws which were passed at that time by the US government seeking revenge against Native Americans for their attacks on white settlers across America during the American Civil War (1861-1865). On July 10th of 1861 about 25 men from Midvale arrived at Beaver Dam Creek where they built a small log cabin known asmodules 3 & 4 near current day Midvale Drive/State Route 87 intersection east of downtown Salt Lake City. This area became known as "Masonic Square". From this location some early settlers took out fires each evening while others cooked their meals over an open fire or Built A Bunk House (); while others hunted deer or gathered berries off bushes near today's corner of South Temple Street and East Mill Avenue NE in Masonic Square today's University Hill neighborhood which later became part of Salt Lake City proper when it was annexed into Salt Lake City by Mayor Brigham Young shortly after its founding in 1896). This early Pioneer settlement began what would eventually become one of largest AMA chapters west of the Mississippi River with members meeting every week outside their new home away from home! On November 1st 1865 three Latter Day Saints (LDS) named George Quesenberry, David Whitmer and Erastus Snow met up with some LDS missionaries traveling through Emigration Canyon south of Logan Utah Territory to go northward into Canada about sixty miles beyond Cedar Rapids Iowa Territory then moving eastward past North Dakota Territory all toward British Columbia Oregon Territories recently acquired by Great Britain via purchase from Spain along with much surrounding territory including parts now within Utah State boundaries) en route back to Nauvoo Illinois Territory following missionary services preached by Apostle Lorenzo Snow on October 20th 1863 while stationed at Fort Bridger Wyoming Territory prior to leaving terminated service at Black Rock Promontory Colorado Territory northeastwestof Fort Defiance Arizona Territorial lines not yet established then continuing northward via Missionaries road east past Green Springs Junction Nevada Territorial lines parallel Mexican Boundary line thence southwest onto Canadian soil arriving just south of Vancouver Island British Columbia Territories Saturday November 5th 1865.) Eagle Mountain is a small town in Utah that was founded in 1847. The first settlers were Mormon missionaries who traveled to the area and started a settlement. In 1872, the Zion National Park was created and Eagle Mountain became part of it. The town experienced growth during World War II as many people relocated to the area for work in the munitions factories. After the war, Eagle Mountain experienced decline with few residents remaining. However, since 2000, there has been an increase in development around the town with new businesses and homes being built.

In 1916 two brothers by the name of Hanks founded a small summer camp called Hanks Meadow which still operates today off Highway 522 just south of town limits on Uinta Mountains National Forest land within sight of both summit peaks and several other high peaks including Mount Carmel and Mount Robison overlooking Nampa Valley northwest and as far away as Provo Canyon southwest; also close to some wilderness lakes that provide excellent camping opportunities year-round
