Eagle Mountain is a small town in Dixie County, Utah, United States. It is located on the eastern edge of the Gunnison Mountains and it was founded in 1871 by pioneers. The eagle at its peak was the most common bird in Eagle Mountain. Today, there are only a few hundred people living in Eagle Mountain, but binoculars have been an important part of their culture for centuries. The first recorded use of binoculars was by Indian scouts during the Mexican–American War in 1846. In 1863, two Mormon missionaries were sent to Eagle Mountain to proselytize and teach Christianity to the local Native Americans. One of these missionaries, John Hanks, used binoculars to watch Native American life from his home up on Mount Carmel. Binoculars became even more popular after they were invented by Samuel Morse in 1828. Morse created a type of telescope with three lenses that could be focused using just one side of his glasses! He called this device a “binoscope” because it looked like a big picture on one screen while you watched it on another! In 1865, George Washington Keyes donated land to help build a road between Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and Cedar City (later Provo), Utah. This road would eventually lead to Zion National Park and Eagle Mountain became an important stop on this route! In 1969, President Richard M Nixon visited Eagle Mountain and dedicated the park as part of his “National Parks Crusade” campaign! Eagle Mountain was named for an eagle that was seen near the mountain by Captain David Waddell during his exploration of Utah Territory in 1847. The mountain has been visited by presidents Ulysses S. Grant and Franklin D. Roosevelt, as well as members of both parties during their administrations. The summit has been designated a national monument since 1906 because it contains evidence from ancient cultures associated with this region dating back to 12,000 years ago. The peak provides excellent views across much of Wasatch County including parts of Cottonwood Heights and Park City neighborhoods on its eastern side and Springdale to its west and east sides; while being just outside the limits of Provo Airport which makes it a great spot to watch planes fly overhead or take pictures if you are nearby!

Eagle Mountain is a mountain located in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, northeast of Ogden. It has an elevation of 6,343 feet (1,899 m). The peak was named for General George Washington's Eagle Scout troop and their leader, Ebenezer Elliott. The first known inhabitants were the Fremont people who live on therange to the east of Eagle Mountain. In 1847, Brigham Young establishedthe Mormon Battalion at Eagle Mountain in order to resist Mexican forces that were attacking Utah; he also ordered his troops there to build a fortification. The Mormon Battalion was disbanded after only six months because most of its members had died during their journey from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City. However, some Mormons continued travelling westward and founded Cedar City in 1849. This city became an important hub for Mormon settlers as it was close to markets and resources. In 1861, Brigham Young moved the capital of Utah from Nauvoo to Cedar City so that he could lead more aggressive campaigns against Mexico while still being able to keep control over his territory. In 1865, Eagle Mountain became part of what is now Cache Valley when Beaver Dam Creek flooded the valley and created a new region within Utah called Cache National Forest. The area around Eagle Mountain became agricultural until 1935 when logging began on what is now upper Bear River Canyonlands National Monument nearby. As this activity increased energy prices rose which caused many farmers in Cache Valley to move away from agriculture and into mining or other activities such as cattle ranching or tourism; however, much of this land remains undeveloped today due to its difficult terrain and lack of resources. Today, hikers can visit both upper Bear River Canyonlands National Monument – home to several hikes including Mount Olympus– as well as lower Bear River Canyonlands National Monument – home mostlyto hunting opportunities with fewer visitors than higher levels thanks partially to a deal between the US Forest Service and local ranchers who lease necessary acreage for timber production.* With global warming concerns increasing awareness about our environment we must continue working together towards solutions like opening up these lands for development or preserving them through conservation efforts if we want them forever!
