Over time, many other pioneers also lived in or around Eagle Mtn.: Harry Wirth (1911-1976), Frank Hecox (1912-1996), Otho Cramer (1914-2008), Lorne Sperry (1920-2002), Don Hanks (1920-2006) and Virgil Beasley (1924-2009). In 1976–77, when EaglesMtn. Adventures opened up shop on Route 6 near Fort Sumner State Park during summertime], a group of local entrepreneurs pooled their money to purchase 9 acres southwest of town from White Sands Mining Company for $1 million dollars (). From then until 2002 there were no businesses operating within earshot or view of most residents; however people could still see activity taking place out back thanks to an underground cable TV system that connected all parts of town ().
