Cottonwood Heights, Utah is a small town located in Weber County, Utah. It was founded in 1907 by the merger of two smaller towns, Cottonwood and Park City. The population of Cottonwood Heights was 597 at the 2000 census. Cottonwood Heights is located just east of Cedar City on U.S. Highway 190 and has a ZIP code 82002. The first settlers to Cottonwood Heights were Mormon missionaries who were looking for an area to build a temple while they were travelling through Weber County. When they found that there was no suitable land nearby, they decided to move their mission field office to Cottonwood Heights in order to continue the work more easily. A post office called Cottonwood Springs was established in 1907, and served the community until it was discontinued in 1951. The first store in Cottonwood Heights opened its doors on October 13, 1907. At that time, it consisted of a few barrels of oil and four shotguns worth $10 each; it closed its doors for good in 1914 due to lack of customers or money after World War I ended. The first resident as cottonwoods (a type of juniper) was Mrs.[?] Reeves from Park City who moved into what is now the town center around 1912-13 when she realized there wasn't enough room for her family near the creek where they grew their grapes; she later raised crops there herself before moving out again around 1930s when irrigation became available closer to Cedar City proper which made growing grapes easier than earlier years During World War II, cottonwoods were not widely used because they could produce no fruit but rather stood tall like other fir trees during this time period; however local farmers did find uses for them such as making hurdy goo which helped make early munitions more difficult to detonate In 1957, when Interstate 15 crossed through Weber County from Ogden right into Quartzsite county,[3] portions of both towns merged together becoming one municipality under the name "Cottonwood Heights". As per city ordinance then relative only public works projects might be done within city limits while special ordinances pertaining specifically to single structures within certain boundaries still applied so annexations/mergers continued apace until eventually disbanding all municipal functions effective January 1st 1978[4]. The Cottonwood Heights community of Utah was founded in 1875 by Mormon pioneers. The community grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s, as cottonwoods were a common tree variety in the area. Cottonwood Heights is one of the most intact communities in western Utah, and retains many elements of its pioneer-era culture. The population of Cottonwood Heights peaked at around 1,500 in the early 1920s, but has since declined modestly. Today, there are only a few hundred residents living within the boundaries of Cottonwood Heights. Cottonwood Heights began as an agricultural settlement located on what is now State Route 89A north of Logan. The majority of settlers came from eastern Oregon, although a small number arrived from Utah County directly. In 1875, Brigham Young announced that Mormons would establish a new Zion near Cedar City. Many families left their homes to move to Zion Valley and begin anew. By 1880, cottonwoods had been replaced by other trees in the community center vicinity due to overgrazing by local livestock; however, some residents still preserved some trees for use as mulch around their homes." On October 15th 1895 members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (LDS Church) organized what became known as "Cottonwood Heights". This event marked an important milestone for LDS Church growth throughout Utah Territory because it signaled that Mormons could settle within existing rancherias without fear of attack or expulsion from those areas." In 1912 when US Highway 90 was built through Cottonwood Heights it connected with US Highway 191 which ran concurrently through Salt Lake City ending at I-15 southbound
