This lock was called the shelllock and it had two parts: the upper part which housed the key, and the lower part which held the ammunition for the firearm. The upper part also had a handle that could be used to lift it up so that it could be stored away somewhere safe. The lower part remained locked when not in use, but when opened,the ammunition could be taken out and fired again without having to remove theupper part first! In 1892, another new type of gun locker was designed by John Mathers. This locker consisted of four parts: a housing made from hardwood blocks, an armature w/a leather belt system (padded for comfort), screws (to secure closure), and an iron keyway inside each block housing.(4) It is interesting to note that this typeof locker did not require anyone else’s help to close it – you simply pushed down on two pins located at either end of each block housing.)(5) As you can see, there were quite a few different typesof GUN LOCKS available back then! The following year saw another advancement in firearm security technology when Mr. Ransom Lock Company introduced their new snap-locking revolver holster (6). This holster allowed guns to be securely fastened within seconds without any tools or hands-on assistance!(7) However, this innovation didn’t take off like he hoped – mainly because most people weren’t familiar with how TO SNAP A GUNLOCK open!)(8) Nevertheless,Mr Ransom Lock Company continued making their own innovative products until his death in 1925.(9) In that time period alone, they released over 60 different typesof GUN LOCKS!!! ....................... ................. ......... ..... ....... ................. .......... .......... ..... .......

Clearfield, Utah is a small town in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. Clearfield is located in Clearfield County and is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The community originally was named "Sandy" after Sandy Hill, which was located near present-day Clearfield. The name "Sandy" has been changed numerous times since it first originated and its current spelling comes from an early settler's recommendation for a name that would sound like "sands." The land where Clearfield now stands was first surveyed in 1853 by George A. Smith and he named it Sandy Hills after his home state of New York. At the time, however, there were no settlements in what is now Clearfield County and Smith's choice received little attention beyond his own backyard. It wasn't until 1867 when Brigham Young called on Jacob Hanks to survey just east of Sandy Hills a new town site that would eventually become Clearfield Township. The townsite was chosen because it had good water supplies and easy access to wagon roads running north-south through the Wasatch Mountains. Today, many of those same wagon roads still run through Clearfield today as well as several trails connecting local communities such as Park City with Bryce Canyon National Park to the south and SLC with Provo to the north. In 1870, Mormon missionaries John Dickson (1825-1910) and David Orem (1828-1900) arrived in Logan County searching for converts to Mormonism who could help build Zion – or a new Jerusalem – on earth. They set up camp near Sandy Hills on July 12th before moving northwestward into Cache Valley that fall so they could start recruiting more people for their cause inland from Nauvoo, Illinois which lay just across the Mississippi River from Salt Lake City then under construction within what became known as The Great White Way: Latter Day Saint Territory. By winter 1871 they had reached Shininville where they began preaching to Native Americans before setting out again over spring snowstorms on foot into eastern Utah November 17th via Cedar Mesa Pass leading down into Deep Creek valley before emerging onto Cache River above Glen Canyon National Preserve October 21st - one day shy of their goal set 3 years earlier! ThisCache River crossing formed what became known as dune ridge road which ran along this stretch today between Park City west past Glen Canyon NP then southeast past Payson east all the way down into Duchesne watershed
