The town was founded in 1875 by Mormon pioneers and named for Clearfield Creek which runs through the town. The first gun store opened in Clearfield in 1892. clearfield had its own police force until 1951 when it became a part of the Salt Lake City Police Department. In 2003, clear field became home to the world's first ever open-air shooting range with over 200 targets options available at any time of day or night with no lines or tickets required!

Clearfield, Utah is a small town in the Wasatch Front region of Utah that lies on the Republican side of the state line. The population was 10,865 at the 2010 census. Clearfield is currently served by Clearfield Mayor John Swearingen and Clearfield City Councilwoman Meghan Sauer. The earliest known inhabitants of Clearfield were Native Americans who built their homes near what is now called "the Glen" in 1847. A post office was established in 1865, and by 1880, Clearfield had a population of 785. In 1903, Clearfield became an incorporated municipality and remained so until 1951 when it reverted back to its original status as a unincorporated community. Clearfield has experienced some dramatic changes over the years; it went from being virtually illiterate to becoming one of the most densely populated towns in Utah with an estimated 80% Hispanic population in 2007. In2012-2013, clearfields Unitarian Universalist congregation made headlines after they refused to bear children born out of wedlock within their denomination because they feel same-sex marriage should be illegal under any circumstances - this boycott has since spread to other churches throughout Utah following similar actions taken by other denominations[1]. In 2013, following public outcry over increasing crime rates in Clearfield,[2], city officials enacted a restrictive zoning ordinance which attempted to address these concerns [3]. This ordinance led to broader protests and lawsuits against the city government from residents who felt it violated their free speech rights.[4][5] On October 29th, 2014, Mayor John Swearingen announced that he would not seek re-election due to low polling numbers[6]; this sets off a race for mayor between incumbentswives Meghan Sauer and challenger Corey Rylander.

Clearfield is a town in Clearfield County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,530 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in Clearfield was Wm.O. Hanks in 1857. The name "Clearfield" was given by George Waddell when he surveyed the area for the LDS Church in 1859. The town site was laid out and platted on December 15, 1860 by Brigham Young and other Latter-day Saints who had traveled to Heber City to attend an F&M Conference there that year. The railroad arrived in Clearfield in 1865 and soon it was one of the busiest towns in Cache Valley because of its proximity to the railroad yards and agricultural produce arriving from east Texas and California. In 1868, Clearfield became part of Springdale Township; however, it reverted back to Clearfield Township after a referendum vote by residents on November 6th of that year. This reflects the trend of most towns within Cache Valley returning back to their original township boundaries as railroads developed more rapidly here than elsewhere in the valley during this time period (although some exceptions such as Logan were granted city status). In 1886, John Davenport founded Davenport Lumber Company which quickly became one of Utah's leading lumber companies with its mills located throughout Cache Valley. Davenport also built a home near present day Main Street and Fairview Boulevard which still stands today as one of Utah's most famous landmarks – considered a symbol of local wealth and prosperity during those early days when Salt Lake City was only emerging as a major center of commerce. Clearfield continued to grow steadily through the 20th century, becoming known for its large manufacturing plants along with its strong community spirit which helped keep things lively during times when many other towns around Cache Valley may have been struggling economically or even extinct (such as West Jordan). By 1990, ClearFIELD had become an overwhelming majority Mormon community with over 60% identifying themselves as members thereof – making it one of Mormonism's most solidly Latter-day Saint strongholds outsideOfTheGreatOrthodoxChurchof Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints communities such as Provo or Las Vegas – underscoring just how deeply embedded Mormonism has become into local culture hereabouts since Pioneer Days! Today, ClearFIELD is another thriving community that continues to experience rapid growth thanks largely to its excellent schools (including two statewide award winners), sturdy infrastructure (including numerous shopping centers and several high-tech businesses) and passionate residents who are dedicated not just to their community but alsoto putting their own stamp on it both physically AND emotionally!
Clearfield was founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers. It was the first large settlement in Utah. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Wasatch Front, and it became a major agricultural center. Clearfield also became an important manufacturing center for goods shipped out of the state.
