In Clearfield, Utah, airguns have been part of the town's culture for over sixty years. The first airguns were invented in 1911 by Georgecp Heath and Wm. H. Gasser in Clearfield, Utah. This type of airgun was designed to shoot small pellets called "bullets" out of a shotgun-like gun known as an Airgun. ATK became the first company to produce an Airgun that could fire large pellets known as "shotguns." TheseShotguns were used to shoot game such as rabbits and squirrels from a long distance away. In the late 1800s, clearances had become so tight in Clearfield that people needed to use shotguns with live rounds or they would be arrested for using an unregistered firearm. The Restriction on Gun Ownership in Clearfield began on February 12, 1912 when Mayor John Fenton passed an ordinance preventing citizens from possessing any firearms other than shotguns without a license from the local sheriff or magistrate. This ordinance applied equally to rifle owners and pistol owners alike; however, rifle ownership continued to be unrestricted while pistols were limited to handguns only. The ordinance also prohibited anyone under the age of 18 from owning any handgun except for shotguns used for hunting purposes only; this law still applies today. On May 5, 1916 Governor Harry Shearer signed into law the National Firearms Act which regulated both rifles and pistols within the United States by statute (21 U.S.C § 922). Under this new law all citizens over 21 must have a federal Firearms License (FFL) before they could possess any guns other than shotguns or rifles which could only be possessed with a license from their county Brady Agent or sheriff’s office if there was no gun store available within 25 miles of Clearfield at that time (Glocknutts did not open until 1923). With these regulations in place it meant that individuals who wanted access to handguns had either to find another country where they could get them legally or purchase them illegally through straw purchasers/dealers working with friends or family members who already had licenses/permits! The Second World War brought about many changes forClearfield residents; one change being that automatic weapons were now legal due to legislation passed by Congress on December 14th 1944 known as “the Manchin-Burton Bill” which allowed Americans To Own Automatic Weapons – Shotguns And Rifles (.50 caliber & larger). As automatic weapons became more common throughout America during WWII, it became necessary for municipalities like Clearfield to prohibit their possession because theseweapons posed a threat if left unsecured outside schools and other public places frequented by civilians (& military personnel)! Clearfield is a town in Clearfield County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. As of the 2000 census, there were 1,291 people residing in Clearfield. Clearfield is located on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Range and along the Cache Valley Railway. The first people to live in what is now Clearfield were Mormon settlers who arrived from Arkansas around 1847. They founded a small settlement called Kimball which was eventually abandoned because of Indian raids. A group of Mormons known as the Herrimans moved to Clearfield in 1858 and developed a cotton plantation there known as Herriman's Mill which became one of Utah's most important businesses. In 1880 Sioux Indians raided Herriman's Mill and burned it down; this event is generally considered to be the beginning of organized Indian resistance against white settlement in Utah Territory. In 1881 Brigham Young ordered all female Native Americans living east of Cedar City to leave because they were deemed "savage" by Church officials. This order led to increased hostilities between Native Americans and non-Native settlers over land rights and other issues; as a result, many Native American families left Clearfield for other settlements in southeastern Utah or Idaho during this time period. After Salt Lake City was founded in 1882, job opportunities for Latter-day Saints grew scarce in isolated areas such as northeast Utah due to competition from nearby Mormon towns like Provo and Ogden that had been established earlier that year. So many LDS missionaries came westward during this time that some Nauvoo Jail inmates became converts to Mormonism after being sent there for breaking parole laws while awaiting their release from prison (see also Joseph Smith–Matthew Whitmer Trial). After LDS missionaries stopped coming westward beginning in 1886 (the "Year Without an End"), many Nauvoo residents decided they would rather move away from Brigham Young's strengtheside than face expulsion from the Church if they did not convert to Mormonism; accordingly, many Nauvoo residents relocated to what is now Clearfield during this time period (see also When did Bishop Newell arrive?). As early as 1888 several stores began selling groceries outside Salt Lake City because local farmers could not provide enough foodstuff needed by LDS missionaries traveling throughout Utah Territory (e g., breadfruit expected back home but no breadfruit found - shipment destroyed)). By 1890 grocery stores had become common throughout southeast Utah and beyond due largely to lack of available farmland close by/higher prices for produce south ofSalt Lake City when compared with what was available north or east of Salt Lake City whereProcessing companies flourished due large Huntsman Farms near Logan airport). The first post office opened at ClearFIELD on October 15th 1889 under name Kimball followed by Provo on November 11th 1889 ().

Today, Clearfield is one of the largest cities in UT with a population of over 150,000 people.
