Since 1876, Brigham City, Utah has been home to the oldest shooting range in the United States. Therange is located on the corner of First and State Streets and was founded by General George Crockett. Today, it is a federally-licensed gun range that offers lessons to civilians and military members alike. The range is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. McKay, Spencer W Kimball and Harold B Kimball until President Hinckley assumed full control following Smith's death in 1992. At some point prior to 1975 there were no residents or businesses located within downtown Brighouse while all physical infrastructure related thereto either ceased operations or largely deteriorated over time due primarily to lack of attention from municipal leaders who were often influenced more by political expediency than sincere interest in preserving historical resources associated with Mormonism
