A few years later, he married Martha Ann Ladd and together they started their own grocery store on Grand Avenue called Mrs. Nicks Laden Store which operated until around 1925 when they sold it to John Hennessey Jr., who continued to run it until his death in 2006. From 1886 through 1907, local dentist Dr David Sargent practiced here before moving west to open his own practice in Fort Worth after serving as mayor of Wichita Falls from 1903-1907; he is buried there at Arlington National Cemetery alongside many other notable Wichita Fallsians including Mayor Sam Rayburn (1897-1975). In 1916, civic leader Vernon Sawyer donated land near downtown for the first municipal water tower which served residents until 1953 when annexation by nearby Arlington made Wylie an Arlington Municipal District (AMD). That same yearsaw another donation – this time 3 acres (1 ha) across Main Street from Pugh’s grocery store – which would become home to City Hall starting on July 1st 1928 when City Manager Caryl Ewing moved into her current building adjacent to Town Hall Square (now Main Street between Elm and Commerce Streets). The early days were challenging but full of promise: during peak hours traffic congestion became so significant that City Councilmember Caryl Ewing lobbied successfully for workarounds such as using privately owned buses instead or having employees drive customers around town on golf carts! However these workaround measures only lasted long enough for demand growth beyond what those buses could handle; within 10 years or sovirtually every inch of downtown property had been annexed by Arlington making Wylie effectively annexation territory once again! Today's economy still relies heavily upon agriculture but with new development taking place throughout town you can find many businesses catering specifically to different sectors such as health care services providers (such as Baylor Health Care System), technology companies such as Dell Computer Inc., real estate firms like Lennar Corporation and Keller Williams Realty Co., entertainment venues like Live Nation Entertainment LLC., restaurants like Ruby Tuesday Lounge & Grille & Joe’s Coffee House & Bistro de France
