It should be noted that this event took place more than 100 miles away from where White Settlement would be established less than three years later

However, only a few people actually took advantage of these offers and started moving into what is now Dallas County. In fact, until the early 1800s most Texans lived within sight or reach of their homes back home – which means that very little White Settlement happened hereabouts! Nonetheless, White Settlement did happen here: small groups of pioneers arrived over time and started building log cabins and other basic infrastructure such as roads and schools around what is today downtown Dallas. Eventually this population grew so large enough that they decided it would be better not just live near each other but also build together a town form scratch-built temporary buildings called panches (a type of primitive fort). In 1853–54 one such group led by James Barger built what is now downtownDallas while others followed suit throughout y19th century with various communities emerging like Richardson Rancho Park West (now Plano), Uptown Dallas(now Flower Mound), Highland Park(now Mesquite), Oak Cliff(now Irvington), Garland(now Grapevine), Wimberley(now Waco) etc
In 1836, White Settlement was founded in present-day Texas by families of English origin. The settlers were motivated by the discovery of new land in what is now Texas and by the hope of becoming a part of the United States.
