West University Place is a census-designated place in the unincorporated municipality of Lubbock, Texas, United States. The population was 5,680 at the 2010 census. This event marked an important milestone for this campus as it became one of America's first universities to open its doors entirely online (later adding a satellite campus) and also brought together many of Baylor's alumni who had previously lived scattered around various locations across the United States. As time has passed and more students have chosen to attend online or hybrid campuses instead of attending traditional universities such as Baylor, WestUniversityPlace has seen continued growth but still manages to maintain a small town feel with close family & friends ties that make life convenient for residents.

After much public feedback and community organizing led by Save Our Style Committee members Donna Kipperman and vouching from local artists such as Willie Dixon and Joe Bonamassa who were located in what would become known as The Gateway District – just east of Interstate 10 – Mayor Corman approved the project on December 12th 2000 This same year saw another significant redevelopment effort spearheaded by then-Mayor Dwyer with plans for a mixed use/ retail complex known as “The Diamond Center” which would have been located on East Jefferson Street across from Baylor Medical Center In early 2006 it was announced that developer Loews Corporation had chosen to build their own downtown district instead of waiting for Mayor Dwyer’s plan which they felt would not have been possible due to financial restraints . Loews corporation announced that they will be building what is now known as The RidgemontGatewayDistrict which will include office space along Loop 202 (formerly I-10) between Elm Street & Gregg Boulevard . This designation allowed Loews Corporation to circumvent Mayor Dwyer’s original downtown zoning plan that limited their development efforts to central business districts only
West University Place is a historic site in downtown Dallas, Texas. It was located on the corner of Elm and Commerce Streets, between what is now State Capitol Drive and theDallas Cowboys Stadium. The land that now makes up West University Place was donated by businessman S.J. Reynolds to Dallas City Commissioners in 1884. The first structure on the site was a two-story wooden building used as a city hall until 1888 when a one story brick building replaced it. In 1907, the commissioners built another two-story brick building which served as their offices until 1913 when they built their current headquarters at 222 Elm Street. The original structure still stands today and is used as city hall today.
