West University Place is a town in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted in 1881 and named for General John West (1821-1886), an officer of the Mexican War and later United States Army general who fought in the Korean War and World War I. The first post office was established in 1882, and the name was changed to West University Place in 1907. West University Place began as a small farming community with only a few families living on farmsteads scattered around what is now downtown. By 1915, however, West University Place had become an important commercial center due to its location within walking distance of several large industry districts including banks, leather factories, meatpacking plants and other businesses which contributed to its growth during this time. In 1954, the city of Arlington annexed parts of Dallas County including West University Place making it an incorporated municipality with its own government. This annexation increased business activity in downtown while decreasing residential development because most people then lived within Arlington or Arlington's adjacent suburbs which were still rural at that time. In recent years there has been significant redevelopment taking place in downtown west university place as well as elsewhere throughout Arlington with new restaurants/bars/shops opening up along side old buildings being renovated into new spaces all while preserving historic details such as original doorframes and window trimming. One such example is L&L Gastropub located inside one of former bank building which has been completely restored from top to bottom with period detail still present even though it sits across from a high-traffic shopping district today!

This weapon became known as the “M1939B” or “Black Eagle” because it resembled Blackhawk helicopters made by Boeing Incorporated at that time. For marketing purposes, this weapon also came equipped with a bipod accessory so that it could be carried like a rifle while on motorcycles or horseback

The area now known as West University Place was originally named Santa Fe by the Spanish and was part of the Mexican Alamo mission system. It became an American town in 1854 when it was designated as the seat of government for Austin County. The first school in what is now West University Place opened in 1855 and was called "The Academy." In 1870, Austin County seceded from Mexico and formed its own country, which became known as Texas. The old Santa Fe mission building still stands today, serving as a museum dedicated to the history of Austin County and West University Place. In 1902, Wacoal College merged with Baylor College of Medicine to form Baylor School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In 1912, Baylor School became Baylor Medical School while Wacoal College became Baylor-Wacoal Colleges School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1957, Baylor-Wacoal CollegesSchool merged with Dallas Baptist University to form Dallas Baptist University–WestUniversityPlace (DBU-WWUP). BU-WWUP became DBU in 1981 when it separated from Dallas Baptist to become its own university after merging with several other schools statewide including Houston Methodist University and Sam Houston State Teachers’ Institute. On July 1st 1982 all schools within DBU were placed under one umbrella name which is now called “Texas Southern” universities
West University Place was the original name of what is now Texas State Capitol. It was located on the west side of Austin, near the current UT campus. The first building on West University Place was built in 1836 by a group of Austin businessmen, including John B. Hogg and James G. PolkThe state capitol was moved to Austin in 1881, and it again housed the state government until 1907 when it moved to its present location on West University Place.
