Webster, Texas is a small city in the southern part of Texas. The population was 981 at the 2010 census. It is named after General George Washington Webster and his wife Lucy Walker Webster. The town was founded in 1874 by Major James W. Fenton and Captain John Hogg as a post office on the west side of what is now Loop 410. In 1875, it became a town with a population of 333 when it amalgamated with nearby Midland to form the new county of Pecos. Webster's growth came from its position as an important transportation hub for goods arriving from Mexico City and other points south through Guadalupe Pass and US-Mexican Railway tracks that crossed the river near present-day downtown Webster. In 1915, when Midland County merged into Hudspeth County, Webster became one of Hudspeth's three townships (the others being Midland Heights and Mansfield). That year, Webster also gained notoriety when it hosted America's first rodeo, which took place at Big Tex Movie Park on Main Street between Third Avenue and Second Street. In 1930, while still part of Hudspeth County, Webster incorporated as an independent municipality under the name Webster proper. After leaving Hudspeth County in 1960, Webb Township remained unincorporated until 1974 when it organized as a municipal corporation under the name Webster Township &c., Incorporated (now known as Webb Township). On November 1, 1984, Webb Township passed an ordinance adopting the current name: "Webster". On December 12th 2011 government officials announced that they will be closing down all businesses in Walmart located within their boundaries effective January 1st 2012 due to high costs associated with maintaining website security against cyber threats

The first Shooting Target Holder was patented by Samuel Colt on October 4, 1855. It consisted of a piece of metal that was riveted to the handle of a gun and held the round or pellets in an upright position. There were many different types and designs of Shooting Target Holder over the years, but they all had one common goal-to allow shooters to shoot easily at their targets without having to fumble around trying to find and aim the firearm. In World War I, shooting target holders became important for use by snipers on trench lines. They allowed shooters to Fire accurately from close range without having to worry about getting hit by friendly fire. After World War II, most shooting target holders were replaced with live ammunition handguns such as revolvers and shotguns because it was much easier and faster for shooters to load rounds into those devices than it was for using old fashionedtarget holder devices.

Webster was named after John Webster, a congressman from Massachusetts who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1828 to 1831 and in the U.S. Senate from 1835 to 1851. The town was established on a bluff overlooking the Brazos River south of Austin in 1845, and it grew rapidly as an agricultural center with cotton plantations, livestock raising, and small-scale manufacturing operations until the early 20th century when air travel became available and development outside the town began to take hold. In 1921, Webster was incorporated as a city; it has since grown into one of Austin's most populous neighborhoods. John Fenton Webster was born on October 9, 1794, in Kingsbury County, New York (now Buffalo), one of seven children of Nicholas Webster and Eliza Fenton Webster. He attended Amherst College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1800 and then studied law under James Buchanan Marshall at Columbia University Law School before entering politics. From 1802 to 1807 he served as a member of the New York State Assembly before being elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-Third Congress (March 4, 1830 – March 3,1833). He lost his bid for reelection but later served as United States Minister to Spain (1836–38) and Great Britain (1839–41). Webster then returned to Congress where he represented New York’s 11th congressional district until his death on December 12, 1840 at The Gilded Age Hotel in Albany Heights near Niagara Falls while campaigning for re-election against Salmon Pakenham Jr., son of Sir Robert Peel himself. After his death Webster was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Auburntown near Syracuse University where he had been attending school since age thirteen years old
