Webster, Texas is a small town in Hockley County, Texas, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Abilene-Edinburg-Mission, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1879, Wiley Silliman and his brother Charles founded Hard Gun Cases in Webster. Hard Gun Cases became one of the largest gun dealers in Texas and also exported firearms to other countries. In 1912, Hard Gun Cases merged with Garside & Sons to form Garside-Hard Gun Cases Corporation (GHGC). GHGC continued to operate as a single company until it was acquired by Cerberus Capital Management LP in November 2013. The Webster Museum of Western History has been located in Webster since 1925. The museum offers displays on topics such as guns and ammunition from around the world, as well as American frontier history and culture.

Webster is a town in Polk County, Texas, United States. The population was 727 at the 2010 census. The community began as a post office on May 1, 1872, and became a town on December 12 of that year. It was named for General John Webster (1767-1841), an American general during the Mexican–American War and the War of 1812 who served in both President James K. Polk's administration and William H. Seward's administration. The first settlers in what is now Webster were Methodist missionaries who came from Tennessee in 1851. They built a small cabin near the present day intersection of US 71 and FM 571 in 1852 while exploring what would become Polk County. In 1857 they founded the First Baptist Church in Webster which still functioned until it burned down in 1913. A two storey slave trader's house located just east of present day FM 571 housed the first school within Webster when it opened its doors to students on January 8, 1865; however, this building also burned down soon after opening its doors. In 1870 Union Pacific Railroad built a main line from Lubbock to Commerce City through Webster providing transportation for goods along what would become known as their "Webster Line". This line helped start the growth of local businesses which led to more people moving into town and making use of ranchers' land for farming purposes instead of hunting buffalo or mining coal seams nearby. The first business open for business within Webster was a store operated by J W Wright when he opened his establishment on Euclid Street on October 14th, 1870; this store continued operation until it closed its doors in 1935 due to competition from local stores operated by brothers Jack and Joe Fenton who also ran an agricultural grocery store across US 71 from where they sold eggs, milk, flour products and other agricultural items until it closed its doors too late in 1951; brother Jack Fenton reopened his business as Jacks Grocery Company which still operates today with over 100 employees including several sons running the company since 1945). As additional businesses started up around town such as druggists (including one run by brothers Tom & Tom Smith) jewelers (such as Harry Heinemann) photographers (J C Wadsworth) printers (Upson Bros.) piano makers (George Wexler) men’s clothing stores (Curtis & Sons) automobiles began being imported into town via railroad trains arriving daily at Lamar Depot bringing new jobs and investment opportunities for those involved with these new enterprises; all of these businesses eventually closed or merged into larger companies before continuing operations under different names until finally closing altogether during World War II when most everyone lost their jobs due to wartime rationing restrictions placed upon America by Great Britain SEE ALSO: Websters History Museum

Later on, other manufacturers began producing their own versions of these specific types of cases. Some companies even released sets of hardened cases specifically for their handguns! The town grew rapidly due to its location on the banks of the Brazos River, which made it an important trade center. The town also became known for its production of cotton and other agricultural products. In 1840, Webster merged with neighboring towns to form the new city of Austin. Despite its success as a commercial center, Austin struggled during the 1850s due to lack of financial support fromupstream officials. This led to several protests and civil unrest in Austin between 1850 and 1860. During these times, many English-speaking Texans left their homes in search of opportunity in new territories such as Kansas or California. By 1870, however, Webster had regained some stability thanks to increased investment from outside sources and continued growth within the city itself. Today, Webster is home to several large businesses including Sysco Corporation and Allstate Insurance Company
